I can’t find any real estimates on when BR will be back up. This seems similar to Gustav, which was several days if I recall correctly?

Any of you baws have any insight?

Some places will be over a week. Some people will be later today. Closer you live to major infrastructure the sooner power comes back on

I've been watching the Entergy map and looks like a few previously red areas are green.

I want to believe...

My neighborhood in south BR is surrounded by neighborhoods that didn’t lose power. That’s prolly bad for me

Tough to say. It'll vary depending on where exactly you are as well. I have a friend in Denham Springs who didn't lose power at all. Have other friends around BR none of whom have power. Know somebody at North Gate by Aster St (LSU) that says she can't leave the apartment because of flooding.

We’ve got a water well, a hand pump, and teenagers. I’m not worried about it too much. I assume it’ll come back on once they get generators staged around the parish.

Map says I'm offline. I live in Stanford Place, and a buddy of mine just said the Bayonne Complex just got their power back.

Gustav was about a week for much of Baton Rouge, and Gustav was worse than this from a wind and damage standpoint

I see that 78 percent of DEMCO households are out right now.

Yeah I don’t have the numbers for that.

Just learned that a colleague got DEMCO power back in Denham Springs an hour ago

In Gustav, a major transmission line was knocked down.

Large areas that have buried lines will probably get restored today or tomorrow.
