That might be worth it.

Going to BR means going toward where its going while inland. Going straight north though aint a terrible idea. Watch traffic though.

Easy for me to say but if you’re leaving go now and go to Florida. Or go north to 59 and just drive.

Any issue with leaving NO now and heading to Florida?

If it were me, I would go north on either 59 or 55 at this point rather than drive along the coast.

I wouldn’t head East. My parents left BR at 1 pm today and are about 20 minutes from Destin. 10 fricking hours to get to Destin.

Jeez, the roads have to be a tangled mess.

Traffic was heavy going east from Mobile to Panama City. Can’t imagine what it’s like in MS or LA heading east.

So at this point, I should just stop trying to get my parents in metairie to join us just north of Abita Springs? Like even leaving at 6 AM no good?

Just screw E or W and go NW. Grab some water and Funyuns and point towards Canada.

Yet weather channel saying 65-70 winds for BR. with gust 80-85. That’s very different from 110. Lots of variation there.

I guess the real question is how early they'd have to leave to be able to use causeway. Twin spans will be mega fricked if people wake up early to a legit cat 4

What’s sad is I have a feeling it’ll be just as bad coming back.

Those staying up, we may have a considerable update from this recon, even if its not not on the official bihourly NOAA map, the aircraft recon data is live.

Yeah, I'm gonna try and stay up for a bit. Want to see this data roll in from hunters.

There was legit discussion a few days ago about how outflow from Nora could effect Ida. I was tangled up with work and Afghanistan to do too much looking into it, though.

It ended up not having much impact, though.

Prayers for all in LA. If you can go north to go west you should do so very early in the morning.
