The Baton Rouge airport north of town at least.

Thanks man. Is it best to head west. Am in Slidell but parents stayed in river ridge 88 and 83 really need to get them out of here

I’d grab them and head west to 55 then get as far north as you want. BR to Houston still looks like a shite show.

So at this point, I should just stop trying to get my parents in metairie to join us just north of Abita Springs? Like even leaving at 6 AM no good?

You are right. I didn’t take that into consideration like an idiot... apologies. It’s just when I see or hear “sizable jump” I think much wider than I should.

No excuse there. Alton Ochsner is on the Mount Rushmore of the medical profession.

Dvorak Intensity estimate from 20 minutes ago is 104.6kt or about 120MPH. This is just an estimate but recon is about 45 minutes aaay but expect a big jump in strength for next update. Storm is presenting as a cat 3 right now.

Im heading to BR at 7am and back to NOLA.

Not saying it is a good idea, but there is time to drive a few miles.

I wouldn’t head East. My parents left BR at 1 pm today and are about 20 minutes from Destin. 10 fricking hours to get to Destin.

Dont know if this has been posted yet or not but this was the NWS - New Orleans bulletin that was released earlier this evening. After the east “shift” was noted.

FYI AF303 the recon flight from San Antonio, is ~390 miles west of the eye traveling at ~390 miles per hour. So we are ~1 hour out from getting the most tangible data we've had in a long time.

Those staying up, we may have a considerable update from this recon, even if its not not on the official bihourly NOAA map, the aircraft recon data is live.

AF303 recon data

Thank you this
