He was peeking to get hit all 3 times. He needs to get hit to feel it's ok. Put him in as RB at practice, the throw some screens to him along with a reverse. He'll be fine after getting hit

The overreactions of couch athletes always crack me up. One preseason game, lol.

They did 7 on 7 today and burrow threw a dime and Ja’Marr dropped it and it was picked by the DB.

He will be fine, guys miss entire seasons due to injury all of the time. At least he was able to train during that whole time.

But did he train the whole time? Or just for the combine

Who knows, but he definitely wasn’t out of shape, if he had been the Bengals wouldn’t have taken him with that high of a pick.

I can’t imagine wasting an entire season at his age to sit out and not play when a football player’s shelf life is so short. I bet when he’s done playing he’s going to look back and regret it. I hope he shakes off the rust soon. He was such a baller in 2019

Shelf life is short from wear and tear. Sitting out a 5-5 season with mediocre at best QB play did nothing but help him.

Terrace’s contract is worth 5.7 million
Rashod Bateman who went 28th has a 12.6 million dolls contract

Bateman played 5 games last year and opted out. Marshall played 7 games last year and opted out. The fact that you think 3 games was a difference in him being a first rounder shows just how far you would stretch just to meet your agenda. Bateman was picked because that's who they supposedly wanted. Panthers traded multiple picks to come back and get Marshall who is in Brady's offense. Marshall already has had two good games and looks to be a likely #1 option before the year is up. That means that little 7 mill will more than likely not matter in 3-4 years.

Thanks for proving my point- he quit and lost literally millions.

What the frick are you talking about? You were originally talking about Chase but since he destroyed that, you moved your goalposts to Marshall.

Cinci fans are thinking they should have gone with the Lineman instead.

they've been saying that since before the draft, nothing has changed.

Lot of people, especially dumbass LSU fans, are going to look really stupid when this guy explodes as a rookie.

He quit on his teammates, man. Just like Leonard did, McCafferey did, Terrace did, and a whole lot of other collegiate athletes.
I really feel like kicking yalls arse when you disrespect Fournette like that. Man played injured his entire junior year. He got his arse out there for every significant game that year despite losing a step. He's also had injury problem up until his time on the Bucs.

I love Jamar, but I was about 60-40 on an OL in the first round. Mainly due to the quality of round 2 WR picks over the last few years.

So whatever the consequences of him not playing last year are relative to his Rookie season is on him or benefits for being one year less banged up is also on him.

Point of the OP was for future players who might think it’s in their best interest to quit playing for their team. It’s never ok! If you are injured and can’t play, that’s one thing but to simply stop playing because you feel you’ve done enough is not ok. Fine if you want to do it but it does come with consequences and if you feel that those are worth it, then fine but there will be some.

Like mentioned, it could be the difference in millions! Not worth millions or my play falling off because of lack of football reps! It’s a very bad look no matter how you look at it. I’m

I mean, this has got to be a big part of it. We all watched him at LSU. Even his freshman season he played well and the spotlight didn’t seem to bother him. Hope he figures it out fast

You guys can downvote me all you want. I know he won the Biletnikoff and had 20 TDs due to him only catching deep balls, but in terms of a pure all-around receiver I always thought he was 3rd on the 2019 team.

Stop hating on the young man. Jamal got his dream. He would not have been selected as 1st WR had he played last year.

Let’s cut to the chase: LSU lost close to 30 players from their 2019 Championship Team.

If you were him or his father, you would probably advise the same decision. The kid is very talent. Everyone is liable to have an off day.

You sound jealous vs. writing the b.s. that you are a fan pulling for him. One preseason game and you want to pounce on the kid like a woman named:

Karen

Let the kid finish his first year in the NFL. I am so glad that you do not make life decisions for America.

Y’all really got to quit with this Jamarr “quit” garbage. I already know that some of y’all aren’t capable of changing your viewpoints on this situation, so I won’t provide all of the obvious and the maybe not so obvious counterpoints, because it is counterproductive. I will provide a few on hopes some of them connect with some of you.

At the end of the day, Chase will be a 5-10 time Pro Bowler pulling 100 mil plus in the duration of his career.

If he ruptured his achilles during the fricking Covid year of college football, none of that would still be on the table. His career and earning potential would have been over before it began. Also, LSU was a goddamn trainwreck last year. They were hiring coaches without interviewing them, among dozens of other mishaps and garbage. And y’all are really worried about fricking chase opting out before the season when his damn parents are probably the ones that advised him to do so?
