Is the neighborhood around Baton Rouge Community College dangerous during day? I.e., car breakins, muggings, etc.

The is only 1 residential street that touches BRCC. S Fairfax. Is that what you are asking about?

It is in a bad part of town. It sits between Florida and Government, and that area has been a shithole since the late 80s.

Not the best part of town, but not the worst. I wouldn’t want to live there.

Yes, Government st corridor is hell on earth. No restaurants, beer gardens, or anything.

Not at all. You’re more likely to see old women gardening. Trust me. I live there.

Day? No.

Night? Anything not locked up is getting stolen.

Yes.

But if you actually take the time to lock your vehicle doors, don’t get involved in drug transactions, and avoid conflicts it’s manageable.

I had a case a few weeks back in that vicinity where some poor old guy pulled out his wallet to give a vagrant some cash and got beat pretty good for his money.

Common sense goes a long way. Unfortunately, some lessons are learned the hard way.

The neighborhood behind Mid City Beer Garden, I forget the name of it, but that's not a bad neighborhood. Anything north of BRCC you might want to avoid, but I mean, its all in what you are looking for. If you like drug infested areas with a lot of crime, then most of the area around there will be paradise for you.
