People leaving 30 foot gaps at red lights so cars can't get to the turn lanes.
Posted on 7/31/21 at 9:52 pm to monsterballads
What's worse is people who just turn right on red even though someone is coming and have to slam on their brakes.

My biggest gripe is when people can’t spell brakes.
You must have a pretty stress free life then, Congrats!

People who think they can wait till last minute to merge and think it's ok since they call it zipper merging. Don't speed up and try to squeeze in. Get out of here with that BS.

You're just the sucker sitting in the long line of cars.
No they are the socially tolerable adults who learned how to get in line in kindergarten. They learned not to skip the line because you'll always find somebody that won't allow that shite. At which time you get, at least, embarrassed and treated like the child you are. If you take advantage of the wrong "sucker" on the wrong day, its going to go way beyond getting embarrassed.
By hey, until then, enjoy screwing over all those "suckers" that were just doing the right thing when you came along and shite on them.

Someone who blocks a free flowing lane of traffic because they need to get over into a lane that is backed up
I’m a pretty calm driver and don’t really get upset but that shite makes me want to get out of the car and beat someone

Wait, are you actually arguing against a zipper merge being more effective than getting in a long line?
It’s pretty basic, and you should be able to understand it.

idiots that don’t know how to zipper merge and it’s efficiency.
You are going to be pissed a lot in LA...it seems like no one driving on I-10 in Louisiana understand this concept.

idiots stopping when they don’t have a stop sign for some reason. People do it all the time in our neighborhood and I can’t stand it.
You can bolt onto this people that are stopping to let you go.....please just go when you have the fricking right of way...it makes it better for everyone including the person you are "letting go".

morons who don't know that a flashing yellow/red light means to stop, or at the very least yield.

Tigergrad I love a good zipper merge. Here's the aspect of this conversation that makes all the difference in the world:
How many cars are in each lane.?
If there are 20 cars in each lane and we all alternate until compressed into one lane that is perfect.
If there are 20 cars in the left lane and none in the right, because everyone knows the right lane is ending, and someone comes flying down the right lane past the entire line of traffic who got in line in the order they arrived... then when he merges at the last second in the front its not zipper merging its simply skipping the line.

When I think of zipper merging I think of a huge volume of cars trying to get out of a parking lot, an on ramp in heavy traffic, or coming to a blocked lane on the interstate.
On the other hand, if there is a line of cars in a particular lane for any completely obvious reason, and someone who should simply get in the back of the line chooses to drive past everyone and squeeze in at the front, they are about to be hated by a whole lot of people.
Its all about arrival time. Did you get to a merge point at the same time or did you arrive 10 minutes after the line and choose to pass 100 cars to jump them all?
If you show up to a line of 100 cars in the left lane, from behind them, you become car 101, not ride the open lane to the front and become car 2.
**I also have a real problem with the cars that let these a-holes merge at the front of the line. Block them out!

Had to run through Atlanta a couple weeks ago heading to N. Georgia and it was raining pretty much the entire run from 50 miles south of Atlanta.
The number of idiots driving down the interstate with their hazard lights on was maddening.
Yeah I live here too and that happens a lot.
Another pet peeve of mine

This! I don't know if they are attempting to be polite or they just don't know the rules. If you get there first, you go first, whether you are turning or not. People fricking do this all the time. I don't want to go first if I'm second, dang people may wave me to go first and then if they change their mind, they would say, "I got here first!"

One I haven’t seen mentioned yet:
People that wait until the last 5 feet to move over in to a turn lane, or sit in the merge lane until it runs out.
As soon as the turn lane begins, slide on in and THEN slow down. Don’t slow down while staying in the main lane and then move over at the last moment.
Makes me fricking furious.
Also. People that don’t know the rules of a 4 way stop.
