The variant has likely already peaked and they know it. They are rushing mask mandates so they can take credit for stopping it even though it will have no impact.

If vaccines are effective within 2 weeks why do I need another shot after 3 weeks?

Well this time it’s different. Since there are a lot of experts predicting that the hotspots will plateau in 2-3 weeks anyway, they will have this as there “told you so” moment. Which gives them the power to keep doing it every time it spikes.

If the plateau is delayed, it’s because we didn’t listen.

This tweet aged well:

@JoeBiden
It’s been over six months since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the United States, and President Trump still doesn't have an effective plan to contain its spread. It's an unjustifiable failure of leadership that costs lives every day.

This woman is totally unfit to hold her position. Every time she opens her mouth it’s a disaster.

You can’t stop a virus. You can just slow it a bit. But it will eventually mutate and do what it does.

All of the past 18 months are an exercise in futility.

Well this is just patently wrong.

This is playing out like a trite and predictable rom com plot.

This whole Delta flare up is to allow Biden to show his "leadership" in enforcing masks and vaccines. The press will eat it up, then cases will magically drop again, and he'll be hailed as "The President we need" by CNN as how well he took care of the " Delta".

It’s an easy political play

He beats Delta without having to impose actual mandates and restrictions. So he gets to brag how he was able to stop a more contagious strain without shutting down business and the economy like Trump did

We will see I guess. Though if JBE institutes a mask mandate and the Delta variant has already peaked and starting the decline like the numbers that you post are saying then he can “say” it was bc of his actions to mandate masking. We will know that’s BS, but the general public will eat that up. And guess what, he would then do it again if given the chance.

We both agree that unvaccinated people fueled this outbreak as far as hospitalizations go. I’m just further delineating unprepared or ill equipped unvaccinated fueled this outbreak. There are many that were ready for this day and came out the other end unscathed. Even if you think the horse medicine thing is BS, the other things like ensuring proper nutritional levels (vitamin D, vitamin C, etc) and generally making life changes to avoid things that cause general health problems definitely work and people SHOULD NOT be discouraged from doing that by requiring that the vaccine is the only answer especially for those who have had the actual virus.
