Thanks. I looked at Strongville and don't think I can run that in a calorie deficit, maybe maintenance but even then.... Starting to ease back into cardio on my off days, Greyskull conditioning, and getting 8-15k steps on top of that. Think I'll pick another 2 programs and run till the wedding. I might run Super Set twice, I really like the look of it. Any opinions, since I think you haven't run that one in the monthly program thread? Appreciate the advice!

i dont think we did superset. maybe we did though, cant remember, it was that or pump city, dont rememeber which. i have it though and like it. if in a cut would be great.
arm farm is prolly my favorite though overall
but strongville....its just something about it man. i dunno, but i love that program. but i dont suggest running in a deficit.

Loved it, but they are very long workouts.

Played around with Superset using the sample training days he gives us online with the program. It was a very intense 1 1/2 hours from looking at my notes. My go to programs are Arm Farm (just love that workout) and then come back through Grasshopper where I can do the Big three and ramp up my cardio on the off days. Instead of Squatober this year I am doing Grasshopper again for October-november. Then I will do either Pool Season which I am scared of or Big Back Billy which I really am wanting to do. I also need to redo FOTH which i had great results on but i hurt my shoulder and traps second time through and have stayed away from since

Finished Pump City this morning. Not a bad program but not my favorite out of the ones I’ve done so far. I didn’t get as good results as I did with oak tree the month before. This program was a change of pace from the previous full body programs I had done. Pump city follows a push/pull/legs 3 day rotation and has a lot of high rep/AMRAP exercises in it. My body has NEVER responded well to those types of “cutting” workouts, so it’s partly my fault for just diving in and not looking into the type of plan it was. I will admit I was on a turnaround for half of the plan and wasn’t as strict on eating as I was with oak tree which probably played a part
It’s a great plan for anybody trying to do a traditional push/pull/legs rotation and it’s really flexible allowing you to work out anywhere from 3 to 6 days a week. It has 2 different leg days, the one with the RFESS-reverse lunge superset followed by an RDL-goblet squat super set is absolutely brutal. The former had me dripping bullets and wanting to skip the farmers walks at the end, but I pressed through (except once). I made sure I took a day of rest before those particular leg days. I’d recommend the program to anyone trying to cut or tone up and needs a flexible plan.
Starting up filling out the hoodie Monday, can’t wait. I think I’m going to buy his “eating thick” meal plan also so really try to beef up for the winter months. Anybody ever followed it?

I have it as well. Take out the stupid 36 oz of whole milk a day and it's roughly 2750 calories a day, depending on serving sizes of chicken, spaghetti, etc.

I started Pool Season 2 last night. I had been on Sheiko for the last couple months. I love that type of lifting but my goodness it takes forever and my lifestyle at this time doesn't allow that.

yea its nothing too crazy depending on serving size but i personally would gain a shite ton but i was including the milk in the equation.
it was written for HS athlete though, so pretty good in that regard. just not a 40 year old man with an office job.

If you were going to buy 3 programs to cycle through (including Silverback because I already have that one), which other 2 would you choose?
No specific body part emphasis, just overall body comp and strength.
Would like to keep all workouts in the 1 hour range.
Same question but with 3 day per week plans?

1 hour time range?
prolly none.
you can adapt any of these programs to 3 days, just do the days in order.
but if i had to choose 3 programs that were more 3 day based
70s big- 7 weeks plus deload= 8 weeks total
oak tree- 7 weeks plus deload week= 8 weeks total
pump city- 8 weeks
would do the above in order. gives you 24 weeks of training.
just looked at calander ....jan-end of june is 26 weeks
do 4 programs
70s big- 7 weeks
superset- 4 weeks
oak tree- 7 weeks
pump city- 8 weeks
7+4+7+8= 26 weeks
gives you a big time size/strength builder that focues on the big compound lifts and is followed by more of a pump program.
prolly none.

I guess obviously not when I think about it.

overall grand scheme of things....no it wont make a difference. is it ideal?...no but we are grown arse men with families...have to do what we have to do lol

I think the Seesaw is a 3 day plan, too. I think I'm going to run that in December. Should be easier to squeeze in 3 workouts every week than 4 or more.
Posted on 10/12/23 at 12:56 pm to Maytheporkbewithyou
yea it is.
you have
grasshopper (1st 4 weeks)
superset
seesaw
turnt up
that are all dedicated 3 days.
then you have the following which are meant to be run how ever you want, 3/4/5 days per week
70s big
lets pregame
pump city
brace yourself its coming
benchamin franklin 2
oak tree

I'm doing Brace Yourself, the prep program for squatober for this year. It's designed for three days a week and have been loving it.
