This is stupid. These are the rivalries we all grew up with as kids. That's what lsu football is all about. I don't want the "easier route". That's for pusses

What makes you think the SEC isn't gonna frick LSU over and make our cross division/pod rivals Bama and Florida?

I agree. I love playing Florida, Auburn, and Bama every year. Those are probably my favorite 3 games on the schedule every year. Potentially losing those annual matchups is a tough pill to swallow.

I’d much rather be in an 8 team division with bama and ark moving out and ut and ou moving in while doing away with the UF permanent opponent.

That would have LSU having a very doable path to the playoff every year.

I wonder if this how fans felt in 1932 when LSU & the rest of the original SEC schools left the SoCon Conference to begin the SEC?

Ok, we will not change anything or move forward, so you can get your way. Even though it’s better for the university, you not having your feelings hurt is most important.

We wouldn't have an "easier" route. If they use pods, which I hope they do, it should look like this:

okla
tex
mizzou
ark

ala
aub
ten
vandy

lsu
a&m
state
om

ga
fla
sc
ky

Each team should have to play 1 blue blood from each of the other pods each year. So year 1 for LSU should look like:

a&m
om
state
okla
ark
aub
vandy
ga
ky

Year 2:

a&m
state
om
tex
mizzou
ala
ten
fla
sc

Neither of those are easy schedules. And we would play Alabama every other year. Same with Florida and Auburn.

I see you getting a lot of downvotes, but I agree with you. LSU has played Bama and Florida every season of my 38 year life. I look forward to going to those games on the home years and they add value to ever-increasing season tickets. I think if most fans really thought this through, they would agree with you too.

I hear you but the game is evolving. Either the SEC accepts that and leads the way, even if some traditional rivalries have to go, or we get left behind and end up irrelevant.

Down vote.
Before the SEC split up in to East and West we rarely played Auburn. The Florida rivalry is an artificial one because we got stuck with them as our permanent opponent in the east. I have always been against that.

I DONT want to play Alabama and Florida every year in football in the regular season. It’s stupid and brutal.

I’d rather play neither until the SEC/National Championship Game every year.

Nah man, your thought is stupid. I want to win championships, period. If we play them fine. If we do not play them, fine. You still have to beat whoever is on your schedule and that is all that matters.

1000% agree.

Losing those games makes NCAA useless to me. Losing the best games from your schedule makes the season meaningless.

The numbers will show it too when people don’t want to watch us hang 50 on Arkansas repeatedly. It’s not worth watching.

Taking 3 of the most watched games of the season, to replace them with 3 powderpuffs is never a good thing. Gonna lose viewers. Losing viewers loses interest. Losing interest loses national recognition and money. It’s the first step toward oblivion (should there ever be that scenario) for LSU

You're 100% correct and morons are downvoting you. All these people that think we'll have more opportunities at championships because of this are just dumb. The "makes it easier" crowd is tired of losing, but what do you think will happen when we have to play one of those teams in the championship or playoff?? The same outcome will occur if we were to lose in the regular season. If the argument is only we get more money from the conference sure I somewhat understand. Frick UT and OU.
