A&M, LSU, Arky, and Mizzouri all are likely to vote No. And the SEC East better think long and hard about it as well as they may end up with Bama and Auburn in the East.

Why would lsu vote no? Did you see the hype for the 2020 LSU-Texas game? There’s an opportunity to add a legit big money rival to the schedule.

I mean, can you blame them?

That all said, Oklahoma, albeit a football blueblood, just doesn't interest me. The Tulsa and Oklahoma City "tv markets" aren't enticing, and a significant portion of OU alums are in Dallas-Ft. Worth. Traveling to Norman for a game generally doesn't interest me.

If OU is required "tag-along" with Texas, then I'd say no deal. I'd rather the SEC grab Texas and then poach UNC, NC State or Virginia Tech as the other addition.

from a $$$ perspective, obviously all the SEC schools would benefit. but there is more to this decision than money

This is what I am most worried about. Just think about telling an LSU fan in 1990 that in the 2020s LSU will be in a division with 5 Big 8/SWC teams and Miss St and Ole Miss. I can be convinced if a good pod system is implemented, though.

I even say this as an LSU fan that now lives in Houston. This would bring more road games closer to me. I still don't want it. I know I don't matter, though. Money is all that matters.

I think Arky should vote yes. I mean after TAMU they define themselves by comparing themselves to Texas. They're national relevance back in the 60s and 70s was about how they did compared to Texas and the other SWC schools. Arky needs Texas to recruit. They border Texas and Oklahoma.

I don't know why Mizzou would be opposed to this. Texas brings in more money.

As a LSU fan and alumnus I support this. Hell, LSU-Texas every year would be a great game and we would play Aggie.

If Texas and OU bring in more money then it will happen.

If you think that the future is 4 16 team mega-conferences then there’s no bigger prize out there than Texas and Oklahoma. You let them go to PAC or ACC and you’re fighting for West Virginia and BIG 12 rejects.

SEC just signed a 10 year deal with ABC/ESPN. That is not going to be changed. You don’t add much in terms of viewership footprint adding those two.

The BIG12 has a deal that runs out in a few years with FOX and ESPN. This is just a smokescreen to get the next contract started.

I don’t think Texas is worth the headaches they will bring. They have a history of ruining conferences with their arrogance.

But….. the Aggie melt might make it worth it.

The fans might think there is more to it than money, but the SEC will take them or leave them based on nothing else but the bottom line.

its where its all headed anyway nap, the super conference model and cutting out the rent a wins.

I'm good with it, I'd rather more competitive games weekly and with the playoff expanding your margin for error widens anyway.

I miss the old model and parity within CFB but greed killed it so here we are

Not sure I buy this logic. Texas is the biggest athletic program in the country but the SEC has massive revenue programs (Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, A&M, Tennessee). Not even Texas can bully all of these programs.

I agree that Texas has killed two conferences in recent memory though you can argue the cheating in the old SWC was not Texas' fault, but the other schools cheated because Texas was so much bigger.

I do worry about Texas thinking they can throw their weight around in the SEC, but the other SEC teams can hold their own. The Big Ten would hold its own.

The only conferences that Texas can go to is the SEC and Big Ten because they are the only conferences that can tell Texas to go to hell.

Aggies crying because they want an advantage at recruiting other than what they have to offer.

For me, I just want to replace Northwestern LA and Troy with a more fun game.
