That’s because we’ve worked with horns most recently. Ask Nebraska and Colorado, too.

If you want to see what it’s like with the horns, just look at the “horns down” penalty that they forced the Big 12 to adopt.

I think the SEC should tell them to frick off.

Shouldn’t give up that playoff rent-a-win.

Being the 2 newest additions to the league, screw them. They shouldn’t get a vote in this seeing as they ran away from them in the 1st place. If Aggie or mizzou where able to beat them to begin with they would have never left the Big12.

They did it to get out from under their shadow, and to try and share in the SEC glory bc we were wanting some teams to expand our footprint.

Those are the most obvious No's

A story like this doesn't leak unless it's close to being done. I'm sure every sec AD is doing due diligence and looking at the numbers.

Do you want Ou and UT or do you want a Va Tech or NC St?

The former is ready to jump the latter is an example but they may not want to leave. If the former gets turned down and goes to B10 or Pac12 it forces SEC to go super conference as well and make semi desperate picks.

I think OU and Ut are happening it's the logical choice and would make the sec premier in ever fashion.

Adding any acc school would be a fourth place trophy. Keeping the sec as is while other conference go super doesn't make realistic sense.

I would immediately become a season ticket holder if Texas was added. But I’m moving to Fort Worth and my wife’s from Austin and a UT fan. I’ve seen some big games, but Lsu @ Texas was a blast for us and my team won so that’d be a fun rivalry/chance to commune with friends on both sides that I’d welcome. If the aggies have to go for it to happen I’m good with that.

All of a sudden LSU Ole Miss and Miss state would be kicked over to Big 12 division. We’d only play Bama / Auburn / Florida once every 8 years? Sugar Bowl has a sec - Big 12 tie in now, they’ll just get rid of sec championship game and go to the bowl (those not in playoffs)

Not until the short horns come to Baton Rouge, sit in a hot locker room and their fans and band get up to the highest seats in Tiger Stadium!

Expanding playoffs mean invitational bowl games (Outback, Sun Bowl, whatever) move to start of season a la kick-off classics when they actually mean something. Teams can only go to same invitational once every 3 years. Then, conference championships and playoffs at current big-4 sites lead to max 15-game season.

The super conf is all but a given at this point. With NIL, the path things are going, I feel it’s better to get two of the blue blood teams in now as opposed to waiting.

My only hesitation is in the recruiting battles. UT, and OU will take players away that would otherwise come here.

If you think bama and Aggie have money backers to sway things, remember..... UT has gobs of millionaire alumni that will “endorse” a player. OU has their fair share too.

LHN has 10 years left on a 20 year deal w/ESPN and Disney. If UT moves to SEC no way ESPN cuts them loose. If UT does not want to stay in B12 the easiest route is to go Indy. The LHN is a complication for them. Also, last time OU threatened to bolt the legislature in OK bound any OU move to OSU. It is a two team deal. OU will get killed in SEC and never sniff another CFP

I said the same thing in the SEC rant. As an LSU fan, fan, do you really want to be now one of the Charter SEC teams in a Division that is mostly former SWC, Big8/Big 12 teams.

My view, I am against it. Create 4 PODS, LSU can be in a POD with Ole Miss and MISS. State (2 other charter Members who LSU has played the most) and include Texas A&M or Arkansas.

LSU plays there 3 POD teams and you biannually rotate 6 teams from the other 3 4-team PODS.

That gets you to 9 games.

That way, in 9 games, LSU still within a 4 year period plays Alabama, Florida and Auburn, teams we have a long, long, long, history with as well as Kentucky, who we also have a long history with and UGA, TENN, Vandy, South Carolina.

So 3 POD teams plus in year 1 and 2 (6 teams from other 3 PODS), years 3 and 4 (6 other teams from the other 3 PODS) then in year 5, the teams you played in year 1, etc, etc.

From a fan interest perspective, it's a super conference and would have no peers.

That is why I suggested “dissolving” the SEC and creating a new “southern” super league

I don't mind OU, but I've heard Texas is very adept at sucking all the wind out of a conference. I mean, wasn't it Texas that destroyed the old Southwest Conference and isn't Texas the reason why A&M fled to the SEC?

If that happens, I'd also prefer the SEC kick schools like Vanderbilt and another weak school out of the SEC.

Correct, the current atmosphere probably would not support a Super Conference of this caliber. More likely they’ll overhaul the whole ncaa and devise a more “equitable” revenue sharing system nationwide modeled after what the sec has already.

Yes it would. The sec isn't waiting for the Pac12, B10, ACC to ask permission about them collectively all coming together to revise the ncaa.

One conference will out of the blue add more teams and the other conference will adapt or fall apart.

Then once the dust settles they can determine how to move forward with the super conferences.

I expect a whole lot of tweaking going on. College football is undergoing tremendous changes, I think this is just the beginning.
