On today’s episode of Locked on Pelicans, Jake Madison talked about a trade he did on their big mock draft. It’s was with Sacto and the basic idea was Bled & 10 for Buddy and 9.

I like it, because I want us to all in on shooting. You can add Buddy and Kispert/whoever you think the best floor spacer in the draft is while shedding Bled. What do y’all think?

Can't see Kings being interested.

The kings would get out of Buddy contract. Plus Bled could be valuable at the trade deadline since he basically an expiring contract.

I could also see a scenario where we send Adams to the Hornets and swap 10 and 11 with them, if we wanted to create some cap space.

I think the Hornets are going to go all in on Richaun Holmes in free agency.

I feel like teams are too desperate to get out of contracts nowadays. 22.5M this year may be a lot, but I feel like the last two years averaging 19.5M isn’t a bad deal.

This. That seems like a strange move for them, even considering the saving contract $$ thing.

Well the Locked On Kings guy was in favor of it.

They pay slightly less for the draft slot value, and still get the same guy they wanted anyway. Plus if they don’t see Buddy in their future plans and are trying to get out of his contract, then it would be much easier to have Bledsoe basically be an expiring contract at the deadline.

I like it . Seen a sign & trade with lonzo and Toronto I like as well. Lonzo for van fleet, Boucher and Rodney hood and some picks. These two moves would put us going in the right direction

Van fleet
Buddy
BI
Zion
Adams or Hayes

What? No way Toronto would give all that up for a S&T for Ball.

Just listened to that pod.

They even discussed potentially adding Adams to the deal to bring back Bagley.

I'd be all for adding Hield/Bagley for Bled/Adams without us having to give up any 1sts.

Would be pissed if this happens. Corey Freaking Kispert should not be a top 14 pick especially with Bouknight still on the board.

Just curious...what makes you say Kispert shouldn't be a top 14 pick? The best shooter in the draft who tested above average in size and athleticism at the combine shouldn't be considered for a lottery pick? It's okay to like Bouknight better but to say Kispert shouldn't be considered for the lottery is ill informed. Also, I'd be shocked if Bouknight is there at 10 (or 9). He has been the guy getting the most buzz as the draft approaches.

I personally have Kispert in the 12-13 range on my big board. I think he’s a great shooter but I don’t think he’s Klay, Redick, Korver, Joe Harris, and all the other truly elite shooters this league has seen. Specifically I don’t think he has the shooters mindset those guys have, plus some more technical stuff like moving without the ball, being able to square up from any angle, etc. I would be satisfied if they picked him because obviously shooting is such a big part of the game, but I don’t think he will be BPA when we pick.

With the 10 pick you never pick for need especially in a playoffs or bust situation because history has shown us the greatest shooters in college mostly struggle in year one. So he won't really help this year. As for his trajectory, he is a senior and doesn't project to be a much better player so his one elite skill won't really matter year two and his one skill is not worth a high pick like that.

We seen JJ year one on the Pelicans and he was one of the best shooters in the league, but his impact was not amazing, especially to warrant a top 10 pick. If we trade back, I'm all for Kispert, but if we keep the pick then in grabbing a player who can contribute something now even if it's minor, and projects to add a ton more to his game.

My guys are the following

Sengun
Moody
Thor

After I have

Mitchell
Keon
Duarte
