LeBron James' Space Jam cost $200 million to make, but China is not allowing it to air. Without China, it will likely only make $60-$70 million, making it a huge flop.

But the media isn't discussing it. Why not?

More proof that Jordan is superior to LeBron.

They never should have put lebron in this. Steph would have been better. Everyone hates LeBron.

LeBron’s media company was heavily involved in this IIRC. Major vanity project which was likely intended to jumpstart a movie career post-basketball.

Why wouldn’t China let Lemao movies play?

LeMao is one of their biggest fans!

No argument here. My kids have asked to see it but I can't bring myself to take them, simply because I don't like Lebron James. I've endured a number of bad movies in theaters for my children, but this is a bridge too far.

Movie premieres are for players who get out of the first round.

Hopefully Lebron will realize that you cannot trust the ChiComs and stop sucking up to the ChiComs and shitting on the USA. I doubt it will happen, but you never know.

Anthony Davis got paid, too. Rumors were that his appearance in the film paid enough for him to renounce his trade kicker when he got sent to LA to be Robin to LeBron’s Batman.

The media is discussing and says its a box office success. Opening weekend was 31.7M so not sure where you get 60-70 total. Bad reviews but making money.

It’s the emperors new clothes.

We’re not allowed to talk about these things in America.

$200 million? For a cartoon and a Chinese puppet?

Movie math is that you make X in week 1 and lose 25-30% per week afterwards.

Staying power for a release or increases week over week are extremely rare though that happen. But this isn’t Sixth Sense, Titanic, or Avatar.
