One name to watch as a lead assistant for Willie Green's staff in New Orleans, sources say, is former Minnesota Timberwolves interim head coach Sam Mitchell.

Mitchell has a strong reputation of being able to connect with young players and would bring head coaching experience.

I love Sam Mitchell and would love to have him. I still would like to see someone they bring in with a strong offensive background. That's not Sam Mitchell.

Sam Mitchell would be a good addition. Former HC, really wants back in the league, fiery guy, does well with players.

Agree though, they definitely would need to add an Offense guy

Pablo Prigioni is a guy that's rising the ranks as an offensive assistant. He was with the Nets in 2018 after finishing his 20 year playing career, and has been in Minny as their offensive coordinator basically the last 2 years.

same here. he seems to have a way to keep calm and positive in the light of adversity, and that would be great to have on the bench.

Mitchell would be a great consolation prize to Mike Brown. Very knowledgeable.

Mitchell talking to I guess an AAU team that included Zion.

"We were lucky to win this game. I keep telling y'all, the NBA don't give a frick about your ranking... I wasn't ranked, you know how many #1 ranked mother frickers I sent home in training camp every year for 14 years? A shite load of them. Because they came into the fricking gym and they though they were entitled to something. Everybody's good. Everybody's hungry. And the guys who are not ranked, they're more hungry."

That's pretty awesome. But i feel most posi-pels around here couldn't take that kind of negativity after a win, even though it's not negativity, it's trying to get better.

Wonder if he was mainly talking to Zion in that clip.

More video of Sam Mitchell talking about Zion. If Zion likes Mitchell as much as Mitchell likes Zion, bringing Mitchell in as an assistant is a no brainer.

He even mentioned Brandon Ingram in this clip when referring to a time he was coaching in Toronto and told Chris Bosh in Toronto to do less on offense so he'd have energy to do more on defense.

What's wrong with mitchell and mike brown?

Do y'all not think mike brown is a good assistant?

He has that nigerian team playing hard.

Ah. Well, I think its pretty safe to say there is some legs to that. I'll be he's brought in.

The question is if he will be lead assistant or if they will bring another guy in for that.
