the idiot at the front just sat there and didn't have a basic understanding of right of way. Kid was waving to the car on the side street to come through, and that's just not how it works. Then missed at least two chances I saw where she could have crossed the highway.
This really pisses me off. It's so dangerous.
Quit being nice in a car. Pay attention to the road and be predictable. Obey the laws.
The worst is those who pull up to a 4 way stop and have the right of way and wave the other person on. You don't control traffic and you're endangering other people. Just obey the law.

I actually wore the horn out on my last truck. Dealership said they'd never seen horn contacts that worn out.

Sometimes, I'll get up at 3 AM and just give it a good blast so the neighbors stay on their toes.

follow-up question: is my wife in the car with me antagonizing how i am driving yet refusing to drive herself?
because that directly influences my mood on the roadways

Let’s hear the answer for both scenarios Klark.

Maintaining situational awareness at all times is critical to unit scale operations. When the Canadians invade, I need to know someone's awake over there to prevent us from being flanked.

Exactly. Was taking my older kids to swim team practice, and we have to cross two lanes of traffic from the median. Median always has right of way over cars from the cross street. It is one of the first things you learn, you have to clear the median before they can come to or through it.

The only time I really blow my horn is when assholes don't use turn signals. Than I give them a nice long blast just to let them know.

when it’s just me in the truck driving home, unless someone is doing some aggressive towards me i’m chill.
when my wife has me already aggravated i’m more aggressive.

Once at 7;30 every morning honking at a neighbor checking his mail.
Posted on 7/8/21 at 1:18 pm to Sun God
I honk a lot. I like seeing random people look and wave then try and process who it is.
Posted on 7/8/21 at 1:19 pm to Sun God
Not my personal horn, but I honk horns in customers' vehicles every time I move them around the yard or shop. It's a rule. Then there's the random alarm going off in every time we hook a battery back up.

I try to gently tap it at a red light, but I do get frustrated at individuals that won’t use a turn signal.

Sometimes I tootel the horn trumpet melodiously at first. Then with vigor and express by word of mouth, warning Hi, Hi.

I don’t drive very often, if I average out my driving miles per week it’s probably less than 5 miles per day.
That being said, I’ve noticed people driving much worse this past year or so. Horn at an idiot probably once a month.

So you're the guy that hovers his hand over the horn and presses it as soon as the light turns green. Nobody likes that guy.
I don’t normally honk at anyone unless it’s obvious that they aren’t paying attention - e.g. I can see them looking straight down, talking to a passenger, etc.
That being said, the person who blows their horn immediately is way less annoying (and less common) then the person who takes 3+ seconds to move after the light turns green because they are looking at their phone.
Two trends I’ve noticed over the past few years:
1. There’s less time to get through turn signals. I don’t know if this is a function of traffic light optimization or what, but it seems like there are a ton of turn signals in BR that stay green JUST long enough for everyone in line to get through it - if they are paying attention.
2. People are more nonchalant about their lack of attentiveness. In the past, when someone looked up from their phone and realized the light was green they would at least haul arse to GTFO of the way. Now they look up, let off the brake, and CONTINUE to look at their phone as they coast through the turn at 5 mph.
It’s infuriating to get stuck at red lights 2-3 times every day purely because people are inconsiderate assholes who don’t think they need to bother to DRIVE while they are.. erm, driving.
