Not without improvements to the bullpen, either through trade or from within.

And by trade is more likely to succeed.

And the Braves are not. It’s incredible to see the tale of these two teams. It’s a great microcosm of sports. One team seemingly has everything going for them going into the season with one of the fewest holes in all of MLB and everything just falls apart. The other team is supposed to be decent but has holes in several areas of their team but everything just falls into place and comes together.

The Astros were supposed to be decent with several holes if you believed the Northwestern Journalism grads and casuals who thought players like Altuve and Correa were bad because they don’t get to use a trash can anymore.

Their question marks were quality of rotation depth which has stepped up and bullpen which is still a question mark. Their lineup was and is excellent.

slow your roll, you're playing my shitastic A's.

But it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that a backup trash can is just as good as the starting trash can.

I can't wait to find out the cheating scheme that the Astros are using now.

Whatever the scheme is, it’s negated by Dusty Baker being our manager

I’m not going on the anti-Astro faction of the MSB. I’m going on industry-wide sentiment. The sign stealing thing had nothing to do with it. You even named the holes in your reply. But the lineup was somewhat of a question mark, too. While most thought it would be pretty good we didn’t know how good because of the loss of Springer plus a lot of guys had bad seasons last year.

From where? Baseball writers on ESPN ? Pretty sure Fangraphs and PECOTA had them as pretty heavy favorites to win the division. These are probably the closest things to what actual front offices use

Too bad we had COVID protocols earlier in the season and sucked during that span of 10-15 games. Where would we be if we didn’t get stuck with that.

But if we don’t find a backend bullpen arm or two we will be in trouble.

I wonder why Correa and Altuve are skipping the All Star game?
