Watch out for the meth labs in the mountians.....I have run across a few in my day elk hunting....
And some of those mountain towns DO NOT like outsiders moving in.....be careful.

I live 1-1.5 hrs from some of the best beaches in the U.S. and 9-11 hrs from the mountains. I visit the mountains more than the beaches.

Beach, no contest, too many burnt out hippies in mountain areas.

I don't live there but certainly would if I could. If I were to pull the trigger, I'd live in Reno. Close enough to get there in 45 minutes and much cheaper. I could afford about a closet in Lake Tahoe right now and I do just fine. CA real estate is just that insane

The mountains.
I like wild places, where nature can and will kill you.

I was going to say Shenandoah Valley then remembered the NC mountains.
I also have never been to the Ozark mountains what is it like?
A lot of people will argue the NC mountains aren’t real mountains, and I disagree with them. The Ozarks aren’t, though. There are nice areas there, but I don’t think it really feels “mountainous.” You can get a different sort of climatological feel in areas of the Blue Ridge and some decent vistas as well.

Mountain, I have a heat allergy and already live on a beach

You really come across as a weird socially awkward guy that was never really accepted into mainstream social circles.
I would think you’re a serious introvert that never had a true circle of friends
I doubt you even know what a circle of friends even means

Beach town or mountain town?
Lot's of Louisianans though would be attracted to mountains as something "unique". As a kid whose tallest mountains growing up were CrawDad mounds in our backyard or MonkeyHill in Audubon Park, I can empathize.

I used to visualize that the clouds were mountains on the horizon when I was a kid. Never cared for the beach but always have a strong draw to the mountains.

I’ve done both. Mountains win hands down. The beach gets old quick.

I live in a beach town and can see the ocean living two blocks from it. Sadly during the summer it is overrun with day trippers so I think I would prefer the mountains, assuming I could be on a body of water.
And I don't particularly care to just sit on the beach, I need to be in the water, which means July to September and once the water gets crowded I'm out

Mountain for sure. Beach is extremely overrated. I mean it’s cool maybe once a year but I don’t get the fascination that some have with the beach.

Ozarks are nice but not as pretty as the the Blue Ridge

I’m at the beach 3-4 times a week.
I’m at the point where I can’t imagine life without it.

Just got back from a week in Jackson Hole, WY. Mountains hands down.
