Will Wade said that Jay Johnson told him to "watch out for some news tomorrow" the day before those guys entered the portal and then "sure enough that news happened"

Id say its pretty likely.

That’s true I heard that on Jordy’s show so I’m hoping that’s what that means. I mean what else could he have been referring too when the very next day after tPear talked to CJJ, Berry’s in the portal

If the kid really wanted to stay at Arizona he wouldn’t go into the transfer portal.

He doesn’t have to worry about the new coach not playing him or anything. He’s not a fringe scholarship player.

Going after a guy like Susac may be in poor taste (also against NCAA rules but everyone does it) but Berry is in the portal go get him.

Dude, that's just not true. They all did that to protect their options before 7/1 because they don't know who the coach will be. I bet 9 or 10 out of 12 stay.

We don't know either way what Berry, specifically, is feeling.

Look, I'll be pumped if he comes. Just saying I'd rather him be the pursuer of following his coach instead of Johnson aggressively raiding his old roster.

Again, I might just be a pussy now that I'm in my 40s.

For most it’s not true. For Berry it is.

I get The bottom of the lineup guy keeping his options open if the coach wants to play another guy or bring in another guy.

But if Berry was 100% Arizona he doesn’t have to worry about who they hire he’s getting his ABs.

I dont Think there is a team in the country who wouldn’t take him. This this really is about what he wants.

He will play, no doubt. But what if he hates the new coaching hire & they clash .

I'm starting to get very anxious for the next update on D1 Baseball. There are some big names hitting the market.

Micah Dallas from Texas Tech, now in the portal.

He's already following Dallas on Twitter.

I mention that because it's the most public way to tell that we're pursuing someone. So it's something I look for.

ETA: Micah Dallas and Jacob Hasty are friends and have played summer ball together in HS and in college.

Sweet. Hes a top notch pitcher. And he is in the transfer portal. Not happy with oregon state fan support. Also playing on team USA with Crews and Co.

But shortly after the Beavers’ season-ending loss this month, he informed OSU coaches he would be seeking a transfer. Canham refused to elaborate on why Washburn decided to leave, but some in the program believe that isolation and playing in the pandemic — in front of empty stadiums, with split clubhouses and amid strict health and safety protocols — robbed Washburn of the joy of playing a true season in Corvallis. He is from Webster, Wisconsin.
