I guess with the quick flip of Romero I was assuming as soon as Berry went into transfer portal that he would have immediately announced he is coming to LSU. I know usually a player will take his time but I want this dude here, with the players coming back inserting him in the lineup our starting 9 has deadly potential. What’s the percentage odds of him coming here??

JJ needs to land him. I’m going to be extremely disappointed if he doesn’t

Should be a slam dunk

Ehh if if the kid wants to follow him to LSU that is great and I'd love him. That'd be awesome.

But if the kid is leaning towards staying with Arizona and Jay is aggressively recruiting him to change his mind and get him to Baton Rouge, I think that's in poor taste.

I'd still take him, but that is kind of one of those things that rub me the wrong way.

ETA:

For all you downvoters, what if Ed Orgeron left for Alabama and heavily recruited Kayshon Boutte or Stingley and they left with him.

Or Will Wade left for Kentucky and aggressively recruited one of our best players to come with him.

I'm just saying, it's great if Berry wants to come and has expressed desire to follow his coach. It's another thing if he's leaning towards staying and Jay Johnson is pressuring him really hard to come to LSU with him.

Maybe I'm a pussy in my old age

Why is that in poor taste. Berry put himself in the portal why would he go back to Arizona. He would have never put his name in if he wanted to leave

May be holding off on an official decision until Arizona hires their new coach

He's hedging his bets. If Arizona makes an uninspiring hire, he can leave.

Berry is an Arizona kid - it's going to be hard to pull him out of his backyard.

Boissiere is from Cali. He may be the easier pull if he decides to stay in college.

I would like them both tbh.

Right. It doesn't guarantee he's leaving, but does mean he's looking at it. Bianco was literally in the portal last year and ended up staying on, so nothing is guaranteed.

That being said I'm all about stacking our roster and it would seem at worst we have a feasible chance of pulling him.

I would expect better odds considering he was his head coach

Coach JJ said that the July 1 deadline to file has a lot of players filing just to protect their options. Nothing committed one way or another. Just because 12 players from Arizona filed does not mean all 12 are looking to leave.
