There’s some great food/drink recs in this thread.

Stay at the Battery or nearby, if feasible. It’ll save you logistical hassles post-game and you can walk to everything.

If there’s one thing you’re going to do “in-town”, I’d recommend spending a few hours on the Eastside Beltline Trail. Drive or Uber to Piedmont Park and walk/scooter the Beltline as far as you’d like. It’s easy to explore all the in-town neighborhoods from there and doesn’t have the sketchiness Buckhead and Atlantic Station are currently experiencing. There’s plenty of patio bars, breweries, and restaurants. That area is probably the best thing Atlanta has offer for visitors.

If you decide to go to Kennesaw Mountain, check out the Illinois monument as well.

The Booth Western Museum in Cartersville (short drive north) is outstanding. It has a ton of great Western related stuff and a collection of signatures of all the Presidents.

Stay away from Atlantic Station and the Coke museum - both highly overrated.

I’d also recommend the Perimeter area as far as spots to stay the night.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Canton Street in Roswell. Hidden gem that is lively pretty much any night of the week.

Good advice here. Didn't see the whole thread, but if the weather is good you can rent tubes/kayaks and do the hooch.

Also, don't go to Atlantic Station. Listen I ate at Outback like 2 nights ago so I'm not above suburban type chain stuff. But Atlantic Station sucks and has no redeeming qualities.

Definitely gonna hit up Atlantic station after looking through it, we’ll be there a few days

Don't waste your time. Atlantic Station used to be a pretty cool spot. Now it's basically a giant outdoor shopping mall. Go to Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market instead.

Seriously - there is nothing redeeming about AS. It is Town Brookhaven with riffraff elements and more traffic.

Reading these comments about murder, I am really questioning whether the concept of per capita statistics has made its way to the hallowed halls of old SLU-gado.

Oh, I'm aware. The April stats showed New Orleans up 51%, though, and that's starting from a much higher per capita number.

Not sure if this New Orleans number has improved since... oh, who the frick am I kidding. It hasn't.

Taking the girlfriend and I up for the Braves-Rays series in a few weeks and need advice on best areas to stay in/best food/interesting things to do. Been to the area few times when I did high school debate and we went to the Emory tournament but don’t remember much besides going to the varsity so any advice is appreciated

Outside of the battery/braves stadium, a good day or early evening date, start at the botanical gardens, then walk or rent bikes/scooters and do the beltline over to Ponce City market or krog street market, get some food there or along the way. Ponce City market has a roof top with good views and some old carnival games/rides

Gun Show is unique restaurant with a pre fixe menu, 8-10 courses of some unique stuff. There are really so many good restaurants around town, you need to figure out budget and cuisine

Kind of out of the way. I'd hit up Monday nights brewery during the day. They usually have food trucks and have a great selection for a tap room

Monday Night and Orpheus were my two favorite breweries I went to in Atlanta. Scofflaw wasn't bad either.

Haven't been to Jekyll, but the one beer I had of theirs was pretty bad.

Not a huge Jekyll fan but I think the taproom is decent. I go to Gate City a lot now and it's the same (beer is just ok, good location). Variant is great, although for the most NEIPA-centric brewery in GA I haven't hit on a perfect one yet.

We used to live in the footprint for Scofflaw (both locations), Steady Hand, Monday Night and ABC, and all are good. Steady Hand is probably the most underrated brewery in Atlanta. ABC at times has some of the top beers in the city but I don't think any of their year-round releases are in that category.

IMO Wild Leap may be the best brewery in GA and they're opening a downtown spot soon.
