Gotta have a Portnoy review for pizza to know if it’s legit or not

Edit: after further review, Antico checks in with an 8.2. Will be visiting there for sure

That area has some good food aside from what was mentioned at the Battery.

Notable eateries in the area:
South City Kitchen
Local Three
Muss & Turner
Elenor's (speak easy inside M&T)
Canoe
Porch Light
C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar
Heirloom Market BBQ

I'm probably forgetting a few but, this is a good start.

That’s the one it was. Not pho Dakao I’m thinking of. Yakitori Jenbei. All in the same shopping center right behind the stadium. But it didn’t impress me. Definitely agree with the others though especially Ormsbys and Bone Garden (owned by the Vortex, also an Atlanta staple). Bone Garden (closed sundays) is right next to Top Golf too if you’re into that

Also agree with skipping Atlanta station. It’s meh at best

I'd stay around Sandy Spring/Perimeter Mall area or N. Druid Hills.

The Le Meridien by Perimeter Mall has the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. It's very close to a MARTA station.

There's a Ruth's Chris in Alpharetta that's close. If you just want to be comfortable that can be done.

Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna is pretty near, and they've got an absolutely fantastic gun selection. They claim it's the world's biggest. I've gone in there and just asked to see random shite just to see if they had it in stock, and they usually do. They have an indoor range.

Of course you can go to Stone Mountain. I think World of Coke is open. There are museums and whatnot. The College Football Hall of Fame is probably open. I know the Aquarium is. You can probably see a musical, though those theater types might still be pretty lockdown-minded.

The Botanical Garden is pretty impressive. Again, I don't know about Covid precautions.

There are some interesting ethnic restaurants along Buford Highway. Al Amin is kind of an unpretentious halal place in that area. The Buford Highway Farmer's Market is a pretty amazing international supermarket. Lee's Bakery is my favorite Vietnamese place in that area. Don't let the name fool you.

I've taken the MARTA down to College Park and walked to their golf course before. IDK about the course (just hit range balls) but it's a fun little train ride / hike from the Perimeter Area (or wheverever). I think they must rent clubs; I don't remember lugging them around on the train.

He gave Fellinis a 7.1 or 7.2 I think but he also didn’t go to the OG one. It’s closer to a 7.6-7.8 for me. Antico is def the goat in the city. Hemphill location is BYOB too. The one at the battery isnt

My son and I did the CFB hall of fame and Coke museum last weekend. Both were excellent. The Coke museum was still strict on covid precautions.

Also, if you want to end your day with a clogged artery, The Yard was excellent. Most ridiculous but delicious milkshake I’ve ever had.

good local breweries,

Nothing good in that area near Truist, but if you want to travel, there's plenty. The craft beer scene is thriving.

if you know of any good local breweries,

Steady Hand is in between Truist and Atlantic Station.

Glover Park Brewery is in Marietta.

Horned Owl and Dry County are in Kennesaw if you hike Kennesaw Mountain (you can get a good view of downtown ATL from the top as well as Stone Mountain which you may want to visit while it is in its present form).

I love the Marrietta diner and it is pretty close to the park. They have an awesome desert selection and they are open 24/7. It is lit up and always has a good crowd..

The area around Olympic Park/CNN Center is really nice now. It has new hotels and lots of restaurants to pick from. Everything is walking distance. That said, this is where they had those enormous riots a year ago. I have no idea if it’s safe anymore.

Given the breakdown of police in that city, I would be very reluctant to stay anywhere in Atlanta. I honestly think the city is too dangerous to visit as a tourist.

Of you stay near the Braves stadium, there’s a pretty nice Zoo that’s near by. Also, Stone Mountain is really worth visiting.

Be safe.

Stay at the Omni. Eat, drink, walk to room.
Avoid downtown, the food isn’t good enough to venture around for first timers. Plenty of great restaurants north of town. Avalon in Alpharetta is better than Atlantic Station. Downtown Alpharetta also has tons of restaurants and bars, too, with free parking and no chance of being mugged.
If you like zoos and aquariums, do that. We are members and think they are great, but it’s summertime so prepare for crowds. Both have parking decks.
If you like Museums, Tellus is great, but it’s a little bit up 75 in Cartersville.
Don’t waste your time on Stone Mountain.
ifly is walking distance from Truist.
