Bryan O’Connor would have been an amazing hire like 6 years ago but ever since them and vandy split they’ve been pretty bad and from what I’ve read O’Connor has a reputation for killing pitchers. Honestly at this point I’d prefer Bianco to him

Those last 2 things are a pretty big deal. Coaching and incorporating technology have gotten better over the last 5 years. Coaches who dont adapt are falling off. Can anyone say they honesty see oconnor getting lsu to elite status in the sec?

Yeah, I could. Unlike Vandy (another smart kid school), he doesn't have unfair scholarship advantages. I think with our talent he would have us in the top 8 pretty regularly.
I think we can do better, no doubt, but I would rather him over Bianco. He's objectively been more successful and took over a worse situation.
I want McDonnell, Godwin, or Vitello and I'll be over the moon. O'Connor would be pretty decent hire. Bianco would be like hiring Gus Malzahn to be our football coach. I'd be pretty pissed.
I wasn't arguing to hire him, just arguing with the poster that said he wasn't a big name. O'Connor is a big name. Period.

Johnson has been a West Coast guy his entire career. I wonder how that would work down here. Has he ever recruited in the South at all?

I am about as anti-Bianco as it gets, but I am not sure of those two who I would prefer. I suppose I would lean O’Connor.
I honestly do not know much about O’Connor other than he won a Natty a while back? I would be concerned if he hasn’t been very successful the past few seasons. I haven’t checked though. I would prefer a guy with consistent success regardless of situation. I don’t want to just assume a guy would do better with potentially better resources. I want to know the guy can consistently do well with less or a guy already doing more with more.
I would prefer someone without LSU connections at all. I really don’t like the potential influence of former players or coaches who are partial/bias towards candidates because of those ties.

The way I interpreted what he said was if it was Bianco, then it would be announced today because their’s no reason to wait. He also was talking how media historically dumps on Friday to give the viewers time to process what was said.

People take things out of context and paraphrase leaving things for interpretation. I listened to his show. I didn’t see it as guessing. He stated he thinks they would already have announced Bianco, if he was the person same for Godwin. He also said it may very well end up being Bianco.
I’ve said at the beginning of the week, I believe the new LSU coach currently has a team going to Omaha.

Watching Jordy's show on youtube I think they know as much as we do on who the next coach at LSU will be. In fact on the 6-16-21 show they mentioned tigerdropping and how we are on top of everything LSU related on here. Fact Tigerdropping is #1 source for LSU Sports.

He played and coached at Stanford, can probably stay there as long as he wants. Doubt he’d have any reason to pack up and leave

He mentioned he has no inside information about the search on his show today , so what’s your point?
