I don't understand this obsession with one of us. Archer was a disaster, Johnny Jones was a disaster, Smoke was a disaster, and now Bertman wants his boy Bianco back to preserve his legacy. This shite has to stop.

Corbin came from Clemson to vandy. How is that for right fit? Land grant ag school in a town of a few thousand to nashville private school
Sounds like a fit. Sounds flexible. But this not a good fit stuff seems silly. A good coach is a good coach.

LSU baseball to perpetual mediocrity. This would not be a good hire

There are bigger fish than McDonnell. Scott goes big game hunting.

Skip let Saban and Pat Henry walk because he didn’t want an LSU coach to rival his legacy in nattys. Sounds like he’s trying to insure the same with the next baseball coach.

Skip is in the wrong here but as far as Saban goes, this is just blatantly false.

Pat Henry had nearly 5 times as many NC's as skip did when he left LSU.

Skip didn't "let Saban walk" and he definitely didn't do so to preserve some sort of legacy.

At 54 he is too old, imo. I’d much prefer Godwin.

Who cares what Skip wants

Skip was a great baseball coach... Period.... But a terrible and cheap arse AD.. He should not have any say in this hire. Nada.

This is a Woodward hire, and I think he should get either

Vitello
McDonnell
Godwin

Or,

Joe Girardi
Don Mattingly

Pick one and throw the bank at them

The reason why these are the names everyone is hearing is because the Bertman and Mainieri camps are the ones pushing those named.

Mainieri would not push Godwin; they did not get along well when Godwin was on his staff.

And maybe this is what’s pissing off the boys club and why they’re all taking to different platforms to talk about their guy.

I know that some will think you are being overdramatic. you are correct perpetual mediocrity is absolutely on the table. Too many good teams now in the SEC who care a lot about college baseball

The only bigger fish than McDonnell would be Corbin, VanHorn, maybe Tadlock

Even if we wanted VanHorn, we wouldn’t want Vitello to Arky

Then he wouldn’t have brought him over from Notre Dame.

Screw what Bertman, Manieri and some former players want. I appreciate what they did (Bertman way more than Manieri) but they should not be able to dictate who LSU hires. Does Bertman still work for LSU in some capacity? Woodward has to hire who is best for the LSU program looking to the future and that does not involve living in the past.

Yeah but Godwin also left LSU for UCF which I always thought was kind of odd

Bianco's name keeps coming up because LSU is just trying to help the man out to get him a raise. That and keep him over there so we can keep winning. Looks like a win win for both parties.

McDonnell has more wins than any coach in the country since taking over at Louisville. I realize that a little bit of that is due to a little bit easier schedule but not much.

There really isn't bigger fish. O'Sullivan and Casey aren't happening due to off the field stuff. I would be shocked if Corbin left Vandy. Outside of those 3, McDonnell is the best coach in college baseball. I guess you could go to pro ball to get a bigger fish but that's about it...
