Who gives a shite? Tiger stadium is an absolutely shite hole, and it’s still the best place in the world to watch a football game. If LSU baseball was as good as Arky right now, Alex Box would be rocking, and nobody would care about the design.

There’s no doubt people are more into it there. This year at the very least.

It really is bizarre that Baum was already nicer than the box the day the box opened, over a decade after Baum was built

LSU is never going to be Baum but there’s no reason we can’t make the box a top 5 stadium which is really all we need

My dad dropped me off at the 97 regional at 8 am and had to go to New Orleans. Gave me the tickets I was 15 no cell phone, we had a meeting place and he knew 10 till first pitch, I’d be in left field standing in the corner, times have changed. But if you love baseball and LSU, there’s no better place than the box.

The old box had the same atmosphere, hecklers in left ( I see ya left field lunatics)

Me and a buddy chose to sit out there rather than with my dad for the opening game of the new Box against Villanova. Still had that old box feel. Left fielder was standing in one spot for a while and someone yells out “God damnit son that’s brand new turf, could you at least move over a bit so you don’t kill the grass.” Guy moves over two steps to the left without looking back. Few plays later he drops a fly ball right at him. Dude was miserable.

All that to say that I get what they were trying to preserve when building the new box, but it just doesn’t quite work anymore. It’s time to update it and clean it up some.

Too many of you people are obsessed with facilities. It’s more about winning and the crowd. There are a lot of old people with season tickets at the Box. Just like with football, the people in the prime seats don’t make a lot of noise. They’ve grown too comfortable.

Dudy Noble has 10x more enthusiastic fans per square yard than the Box. Fact.

Do they still sell Leroy's Lipsmacking Lemonade at the Box? That was some good stuff.

I pretty much agree. There are two separate arguments going on here. The stadium layouts and amenities have next to nothing to do with the electric atmospheres at Noble, Baum, and Swayze. It’s the people and their hunger for winning at something. If any of those schools were to have 6 NC’s and a program not meeting it’s potential right now, they’d be grumpy and subdued. Those fan bases feel like their programs are meeting potential and about to surpass that to another level. Therefore, they feel a part of something special and are hungrier fan bases.

I don’t. It’s on the field of play and pushes your seating further away from the action

Don’t worry, when the rest of the business world realizes that we have Juneteenth as a State holiday, they’ll flock here.
