The new season starts tonight. I hope this one is as good as last year.
Let's get started.

I just started this show. On the finale of season 1 right now. Alan is a total badass.
Can anyone recommend me the best seasons to watch?

They are all good. With that said, I thought last season may have been the best. Season 3 when the went to Patagonia, Argentina was fantastic because the location allowed for longer time in the wilderness.
The last few seasons have been at Slave Lake where it changed from fall to artic winter which really impacts the way the challenge is played.
Season 4 was probably my least favorite where it was a team challenge that I felt didn't work quite as well.
The winner of Season 7 was the real deal.

All seasons are fantastic. Last season was amazing.

Alone is my favorite show.
Looks like this year is at Chilko Lake, just north of Vancouver. Looks very mountainous.
I would love to go on the show, but I don't want any part of doing it in BC Canada with Grizzlies. I'm not hanging out with the apex predator, unless they allow me to have a .50 caliber revolver with me for protection.
The last two seasons were awesome. It was obvious who the winners would be, but there was some strong competition. The thing i find the most interesting in all of seasons is the shelter that each of them build.

If I was about 10-12 years younger I would consider applying. Being in your later 50's takes a toll on some of your endurance and reactions to cold and heat even if your are very fit and adept. 2-3 weeks is one thing but 2-3 months is different.
I love being outdoors but I have never handled bugs well. I had rather try to catch a rattle snake by hand with it coiled up, facing me and ready to strike than deal with a lot of insects. The smaller they are the more I hate them.

SWEET
My 8 year old loves watching this show with me.
He asked my wife if he and I could go live in the wilderness for a couple months.
I if I didnt have two other kids i'd be leaving at home with her, she'd probably love the idea.

Such an underrated show. I wish they would show more footage of how each person makes their structure. It's obviously a huge part of whether they'll be successful or not.
Edit....I'm curious if a woman will ever win the show.

Seems they are getting riskier and riskier every season and from this seasons promos it looks like they are going to be dropping those folks in some heavily populated bear territory.
I'm sure nobody got killed or seriously injured since I'm pretty sure this seasons shows are in the can and it already happened.

The woman that came in second on Season 7 was pretty damn impressive.

When a woman does win it would definitely make my wife’s day. ALONE is about the only show on the History Channel worth watching.

I thought 2 of the chicks had a great shot last season. I’m pumped for this season.
