Is having a Whole Foods an indicator that you’re in an okay, affluent city?

Whole Foods aren’t everywhere. There’s a reason they put them in certain cities as opposed to say Monroe or Alexandria.

Politics aside, is having a Whole Foods a sign of symbol that you’re in a halfway decent, affluent city?

I think it’s more to do with population than anything.

Whole Foods is an indicator that people are willing to pay more for the same thing.

There's two in New Orleans so not really. It's more of an indicator that you're in the affluent (Uptown) or gentrifying (Mid-City/Treme) part of town.

Usually means you're in an area of upper middle class soyboys. You know, the type who sits on their macbook in starbucks cursing the big bad world, despite having a rather privileged upbringing themselves.

More of a measure of if your city has hot young college students in it. Whole Foods has premiere retail talent.
