When will the old Perkins bayou manchac bridge reopen?

I *think* I read somewhere that the water is no longer over the bridge but they couldn't open it until it is goes through safety inspection which the water is still too high to execute. This was a couple of days ago.

SMH. Never gonna let it go huh? I know this thread probably brings up bad memories of when I typed the words that everybody else was thinking. I’m sorry I hurt your feelings, Paul. But would rather go through life not knowing that you are annoying as frick with a schtick as tired as 350? And it was 5 years ago man. 5. With many open Sonic invitations along the way. Cmon man, lighten up

I’m at Santa Maria & heading home(bluff and 74). I can’t go right to i10 because of the Manchac closure. Can’t go left and down bluff because of that closure. Gotta go to airline to highland to 10 or airline to 73. frick all that

I work in Geismar and live in St George, so I know exactly what you're talking about. But this post reminded me of the old Californians bit on SNL.

Right after 50 Iberville residents stop holding 10000 EBR/Ascension residents hostage because they decided to build their house IN A SWAMP.
Its the guy wanting to drive through his neighbors yard to pour concrete on a much larger scale.

Nah bro. It’s the hundreds of houses built in the EBR swamp that has caused the problem. I guess you are new to the area because anybody that’s been in this area for the last 15 years knows what it going on with building in the swamp.

Old Perkins bridge over B. Manchac is open. Drove over it this morning. Barricades moved to the side.
