I hear about large amounts of fentanyl being seized, and I hear about people ODing on fake pain pills laced with Fentanyl, but I never hear about police busting the labs that are manufacturing and pressing the the fake pills.

The LD50 for humans is not known to an exact amount but 2mg is the generally excepted lethal injected dose, though opiate tolerant individuals could certainly take more. So 2 kilos is dead on the excepted amount to kill a million people. These synthetic opioids are extremely potent. Some of the other analogs like Carfentanyl are 100 times more potent than Fentanyl. This is part of the problem with overdosing getting evenly cut batches is near impossible in anything but a commercial lab.
