That's back when we relied on the golden rule to teach us how to get along. Now, we have to demonize everything white, so there's no getting along; just division and destruction.

Right. Point being "black" is not in and of itself a "race". We all exist on a spectrum of skin tones that has nothing biologically to do with the socially constructed concept of "race".

Of course black is a race, just like white is. "Hey, kiddos, race is a spectrum of skin colors! Where are you on the racist rainbow?" You went from black stars to light-skinned black women to rainbow brite. Make a real point, use plain english instead of word salad.

As to your edit:

quote:

Species is the lowest level of scientific nomenclature. Race is just some shite we made up to justify some of us feeling good about ourselves.

Race isn't entirely made up, it's DNA.

quote:

But I still think it's worth pointing out that even the most universally popular shows starring black people, even at the height of the Clinton-era racial hegemony, were produced and written by white people.

So what? Is there a point to that? Is it an observation, a criticism? I thought your earlier complaint was something, something light-skinned women. Now it's white writers.

Nothing has changed .... just the definition of “racism” has become extremely broad
Correct. Paraphrasing something I read this week...

Suppose you are a white shop keeper. A white person and a black person arrive at your store about the same time. Which one do you tend to first?

If you tend to the white guy, it's because you're a racist, and don't want to serve the Black person.

If you tend to the Black guy, it's because you're a racist, and you think he's going to steal something so you can't let them roam the store unfettered.

Under modern definition of CRT there is no possible action that does not result in a white person being a "racist".

In your own words, define "race".

No, I didn't. You're just frustrated because you don't have a good argument, so you've resorted to an ad hominem.

Ya I guess I meant that it wasn’t this big mainstream issue that had to be addressed

That it ends up on film with camera phones is kind of a game changer that it’s harder to casually dismiss folks that want it addressed

Also mid 2000s you might recall some dislike of Muslims being pretty popular content.

The dynamic has surely changed but it’s not like racial issues didn’t exist then. I’ll agree white folks were much less effected.

The Obamas set racism back 50+ years.

Why don't you define it for us and we'll go from there.

I didn't attack you, I made fun of your simplistic rainbow brite nonsense.

Many here on the OT refuse to admit it, their downvotes to this post testify as much, but this country had all but moved past its racial history by the 80s. What changed though was the Democrat Party realized that to further their leftist progressive/Marxist agenda a useful tool to do so would be racial division.

I have. It's a made-up social construct based on non-biological differences in skin tone. What is your definition?

This is the literal definition of ad hominem. "I'm just gonna call you a name, instead of responding to your point."

True or false: does CRT contend that white people are at their core racist due to the fact they’re white?

That's a straight example of critical theory. I dismissed you the other day about being dishonest about what CRT is. And I'm doing it again.

You can't answer a question with "true or false". You can answer a statement that way.

I'm not playing merry go 'round with you, define it or frick off.

It isn't, it's calling what you wrote childish.

What was the point you were making? I asked you twice to be more precise with what it is you were saying. Was it that black people had issues with the Cosby Show because there were light-skinned black women on it? Or was it that there were too many white writers on black sitcoms? Or were you just trying to say, "race is a spectrum of colors, man, groovy."

bullshite. Pure bullshite. Answer the question. Does critical race theory contend that it is inherent, by virtue of their race, that all white people are racist? It’s a simple yes or no question. Either answer the question or at least have the dignity to admit you’re full of shite.

No. Which is an appropriate answer to a QUESTION.

I'm sorry you don't know the difference between being asked to answer a question (Y/N) and being asked whether you agree with a statement (T/F). This is basic middle school grammar here.
