I’d be thrilled if I woke up with Hitchens’ or Orson Welles’ accent.

At least she looks Irish so it should work out for her

Already saw this episode of the young and the restless. They’re going to need some new material.

Saw something like this on a NatGeo show once. People with brain injuries having different accents or special skills.
One woman had something happen and after she recovered, she was an amazing piano player and had never played in her life.

I've heard about this before. On a morning radio show I used to listen to they covered a news story where a woman woke up from brain surgery and started speaking some Eastern Bloc sounding language. None of her family understood her, but one of the doctors on call did, and started translating for her. They ended up having a caller who said her mother developed an Asian accent after surgery. People would call her on the phone and hang up because they didn't believe it ead her.
The brain is still a mystery.

I had a tenant who had major brain surgery for a tumor removal. She woke up fluent in French.

You’d do well with a Truman capote

The brain is just wild. I went down a YouTube rabbit hole on Acquired Savants a while back. People would have some type of serious brain injury, but would recover. They would find that they were now master sculptors, or math geniuses. It is amazing.

It’s definitely a thing. A nurse that I used to work with suddenly developed a Jamaican accent after she had a stroke. Some days it would be thicker than others.

Was this after a visit to club dreads?

yeah i've heard about this stuff. Local radio had a doctor on and they explained how it happens. One lady woke up from head trama, and spoke in Portuguese. She has never learned the language, or even knew anything about it. English was her only language at that point.
