One of the best sci fi movies ever. Jenny Agutter was yummy.

Anyway, it’s pretty prophetic. I think it’s a good prediction of where society is headed. Conformity, surrender, death.

They were supposed to do a remake but I guess it’s not happening

The fx are laughable considering Star Wars was just 11 months away.

I actually find the whole Star Wars phenomenon very overrated but it makes Logan's Run look like a home movie.

Pretty sure they filmed a lot of that at the Apparel Mart in Dallas which was a super modern looking building back when it was built. It just looks dated now.

Yep. Found the LINK.

You need to remember Star Wars completely changed EVERYTHING regarding SF movie effects. Nothing beforehand came anywhere near it.

Logan's Run was way more about the premise, with enough visuals tossed in to allow for suspension of disbelief.

You can't tell if the guns are energy or projectile, but they hit with a big boom. Can blow through a wall with one.
The attire- colorful, loose and skimpy clothing for the civilians, while the Sandmen wore dark formfitting uniforms.

it may look cheap now, but it wasn't bad at the time.

Go look at the computer screens and stuff "in-world" in Star Wars, and you quickly can find things that look just as crappy. The targeting systems, the vector graphics, etc.

I still miss 90s explosions in action movies. New stuff doesn't cut it

Star Wars effects are laughable considering Alien was being filmed around the same time as Empire Strikes Back.

Ironic also that after they escape the dome, they find the ruins of D.C. overgrown and full of feral cats.
