Don't live by hospitals, railroad crossings, fire stations, police station, airports, interstates, people who own roosters....

Maybe if the residents would elect a mayor who would fix the streets and make them drivable, a helicopter wouldn’t be necessary.

All jokes aside, these kind of people suck. Move if you have a problem with it. We should care more about a kid’s health than about some yippity uptowner’s safe space

A little noise occasionally is the trade off I expect from living in a City. Maybe Abita Springs or some other rural area would suit them? I'd be embarrassed to put my name on this lawsuit.

I live next to an outdoor music venue. I’m tired of the noise!

Most reasonable people do. I find it humorous when people move to a city and get offended by city noise.

As the father of a child who had to be flown into Dallas Childrens the day after he was born, those plaintiffs can kiss my arse.

Children's is smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood, it's not really in the "city".

I wouldnt care about the noise, but it the vibrations were messing up my foundation or house, id be pretty upset

Is the current helipad location the same as on google earth? Because it doesn’t really look close to any houses. The complex next to it is owned by LCMC.

I understand that the pad wasn’t there prior to this but is the pad permanent or just relocated during the renovations?

Did they illegally move the pad? That's the question

“[Children’s Hospital] made this move without seeking any neighbor or community input, and more alarmingly, without any permits from the City, [Federal Aviation Association], or the [Department of Transportation and Development],”

Scruffy will play devil’s advocate here.

How many people here would just willingly accept the loss of home value in this situation?

The individuals who live there were perfectly fine when the helicopters were landing in the original location.

Scruffy assumes that everyone here would accept the drop in home value without question.

Next, everyone here is for the welfare of children, obviously.

What if there are small children living in these homes, who are now impacted emotionally and physically by the middle of the night helicopter landings, something that wasn’t an issue prior to the pad being moved?

Is their welfare not important?

To claim that you wouldn’t have an issue with a situation that wasn’t present only a short time ago is disingenuous at best.

The best course of action here is for these individuals to sell their home and move. It sucks for them because they will likely lose significant money in any sale now.

And, yes, helicopter pads are very loud. This isn’t like an airport where planes just fly in and land instantly.

Helicopters slowly descend and hover before landing.

Scruffy understands their predicament.

Children's built the original helipad at the hospital 11 years ago. The homes have been there for 100 years

Then moved the new one 130 yards closer to the residences, and started moving it without receiving a permit or occupational license.

There is no loss in value. They still live in one of, if not the most, exclusive areas.

More people are worried about the shitty apartments across Tchoup than they are helicopters.

No one is telling their realtor that area is a no-go because of 30 minutes of potential noise every couple weeks. The damn train runs almost every morning at 5am blowing its horn.
