Blossom the Possum in back yard. What should I do.. Eradicate, Domesticate* or Relocate?

I discovered a nice sized possum has been around my backyard here in the city of Lafayette. Based on my backyard camera my outdoor cats treat it like it's a friend.
Should I not worry about it or move to trap it and move or pop it in the head with a 22?
Please advise.

Just leave it alone. It doesn't sound like it's bothering you. They are beneficial in that they eat pests and don't carry rabies.

They will crush ticks. I vote leave him.

Sounds like it's living in harmony with the world. Love. Peace. Fried fish grease. And leave it alone.

Leave it be

They don’t eat up the songbirds

If it's not tearing up your garbage or garden, leave him be. Otherwise, catch in a live trap, bringing him to the country.

No. Those bastards eat turkey eggs. Keep em in town. Release them in a grocery store parking lot if you must.

Leave him be. Once I found out they eat ticks I vowed to never kill another one I didn't have to.

Leave that little joker be. If he ain't messing shite up, then let him hang out, and give him some cat food.

I was always told they eat turkey eggs. not sure if thats true or not. We've always shot them when bow hunting.

Possums, raccoons, and skunks are terrible nest predators. Quail, song birds, and turkeys.

His backyard cats are hell on everything too Hopefully they are spayed and neutered
If we shot everything that would eat bird eggs or birds themselves you would run out of ammo
Crows are the worst of all
