Doesn't surprise me. I've watched a fair amount of Ohio State football the last few years and Werner never did much of anything. He may be a great athlete but it didn't translate on the field.

Nothing says I didnt watch like this bullshite.

Lol so he was all big 10 on accident?

Did you even watch the CFP????? He was all over the field and they SHUT DOWN Clemson. The announcers were literally gushing over Werner during the game.

Gtf dude.

They did the same thing when we took Anzalone, even though Anzalone was more athletic than Shanle.

Fujita was really athletic for 6'5'' 250. He and Anzalone were freaks athletically compared to Shanle.

Lol people trying so hard to not just say “I don’t like him because he is white.”

I keep seeing this but I disagree. I was a big fan of Anzalone from the time he was drafted and i still am a fan. He stood out when I saw any film/highlights of his. Even after the trade, I hoped he'd beat out Kwon and when he was on the field I hoped he would make plays. Prior to his draft, I thought Luke Kuechley was going to be amazing. I hated that Carolina got him because his film was outstanding. Race has nothing to do with my feelings on Werner. He may test athletically gifted but it didn't show up much to me. When I see his PFF score, its right about what I would assume.

Werner may turn out to be great. I'm not a scout and definitely didn't watch him 1% as much as the people that drafted him but not everything needs to be classified as racism.

I don't trust college pro day 40 times.

Hell LSU said Stevens ran a 4.50.
I found out all I needed to know about those 40 times.

Could be worse. We could have reached for Cox in the second

Or we could have taken someone else in the 2nd and got Cox with the last pick in the 3rd. Cox has weaknesses no doubt, but he’s pretty damn good in coverage. One analyst thought he might be the best coverage linebacker in the draft.

I’m not sure who votes on this but all I heard was Shaun Wade really struggled last year and not only was he all big 10 but was first team all American last year. And he went in the 5th round....

Maybe not for you, but people are legit straight up making up reasons why they don’t like the kid. This forum (and probably many others) has a long history of outright shitting on all white linebackers. All criticism doesn’t equal racism, but let’s call stereotypes and bias for what they are so we can have a conversation and heal. We owe it to the future saltine backers, the true disparaged group of football.

Wouldn’t be a Saints active roster without one white injury prone OLB.

I can't argue against that since I don't know what's in the minds of everyone on this board. I hope people are judging him based on what he's done, not based on his skin color the same as I would hope if he was a black player drafted.

I think cox is easily the best coverage linebacker in the draft.
Problem is he gets washed out in the run game.

Yeah Fujita was really good and definitely underrated.

Shanley was more the bring your lunch pail to work type of guy. Got by on knowing what to do but not often being able to physically do it.

Fujita was a freak.

What game did you watch? He was their best player on defense. He was sideline to sideline. This isn't my opinion it's a fact. His football iq is very high. He is very strong in coverage and his weakness is straight at him. In today's game thats not that big of a problem.

Didn't understand the pick. I thought he would be a much later pick at best. He does not seem to fit the mold of the current NFL LB
He was being touted over and over again as "a mid-round steal", so we all need to stop pretending he was going to be there at the end of the third round. If they wanted him, specifically, they had to take him at the end of the 2nd.

And for those saying he cant play, he averaged almost 7 tackles per game last season with two other NFL caliber linebackers playing next to him. He was averaging more tackles per game than any LSU or Bama player last year.
