I’m sure hookers feel really empowered while they are fricking strangers for money bc they have ni Other life skill.
Some win Grammy Awards (Cardi B).
Others are elected DA (Kamala Harris).
Others win Oscar Awards (pretty much 80% of Hollywood)

If you think a hooker is voluntarily engaging in that transaction and is in his or her right mind; you’re wrong. He /she may have rationalized their engagmenf in their “profession” but there is nothing about working as a Prostitute that is healthy or good for society; or for the Prostitute. Nothing.
Because its illegal.
This is very judgmental. There are many many women who are not "forced" into it.
What is the difference between hooking and OnlyFans? Or doing porn?
Legalization and regulation helps to get a large portion of the unsavory elements out of it.

he wont be able to answer that. He if of the belief that he knows what is better for a person than they do.
he is no different than biden and the rest in washington that the board hates. He just wants to legislate what he believes is correct.
Claims to be about freedom....yet wants the oldest profession in the world outlawed because "muh morals" but has no understanding of the fricking consequences of keeping things illegal. if he really cared about the morality of things he would want it to be easier for church groups to reach out and help these women....he doesnt because as far as he is concerned "its the way its always been done" and changing that would require critical thinking skills he doesnt have.

exactly.
I would never use a prostitute nor would i ever use drugs and yes i have a moral problem with people using them, but i understand it is not my right to tell others what to do and so long as it does nto affect me, it should be up to them to make that choice....not me.
I also understand making things illegal creates a huge black market that, like you said, solves issues with violence.
all you have to do is go rewatch goodfellas where henry says that all the mafia was....like a police department for wise guys, protection. all markets evolve and will form their own protections, legal or illegal.
stop making the preferred method of protection and setllement dispute, violence!!

Again, people should not be forced into it. This should be illegal.

Again, why should any of this mean that it should be outlawed? What does "unhealthy or good for society" mean? Are adult stores healthy or good? What about porn websites?

Maybe the “John” isn’t a victim. But permitting an occupation that exchanges sex for money, whether or not such is legal, is exploitative:
Slavery is as old as time too. Doesn’t make it right.
This is a poor comparison. Slaves were forced into labor against their will.
Again, people are talking about a transaction between consenting adults, where each party is of sound mind.
Human trafficking and sex slavery are abhorrent and should be eradicated. We already have laws against this.

Or...
Casinos, lotteries, bars, strip clubs, fast food restaurants, trans fats, smoking, vaping, crossfit...

But if statistics show, a large number of current prostitutes emanate from this, where do you see them coming from once it becomes "legalized"? You know a lot in your friends and family circle who are clamoring to get into it IF ONLY it would be made legal?

I see not one positive societal advantage of lifting a ban on prostitution.
I think The idea is if you bring this out of the black market you would have less trafficking and more protections for sex workers.
Compare buying weed from a rando in college vs going to a dispensary

Exactly. We shouldn't illegalize something because people don't like it.

If the Louisiana legislature is as corrupt as Alabama, prostitution already legally exists in the State.

I would be fine with this analogy if the Prostitute were an inanimate object.
The criminals here are pimps and Johns. The victim is the Prostitute.

letting this line of thinking creep into government or using this line of thinking to outlaw something is the biggest fricking mistake conservatives ever made. This type of thought process is the exact type of thinking the democrats are using to eventually get whole sale gun control passed.
everytime you have a mass shooting you have the liberals screaming about the good of society overall and the health of society with no regards to stats or facts.
Eventually you will have a enough Americans who view guns with crime only and they will scream for them to be outlawed for the good of society.
frick all that, just focus on freedom. dumb mother frickers who think they can save everyone are going to cost us many of our freedoms. Covid is the first fricking test case of that with the quaritining of those that are not sick.....you know for the good of society.
doing things for the good of society or the health of society is a trait associated with liberal thinking, communisim and anti freedom.
anyone that supports making things illegal for those reason lack critical thinking skills and yes that includes my parents and grandparents.

If you think there are 0 women out there who willingly want to sell sex for money you’re wrong.
I think pushing this underground only creates worse Conditions for prostitutes and makes it he’s for them to go to the police when they’re abused by pimps and John’s.
What we’re doing now isn’t working.
Push the business into the light.
