That's fine. I'd like for Paul to go out with a good finish to this season, though. Many want him to be laughed out of the building.

God dammit.
I like CPM and I defend him year in and out for his strategies and lineup changes.
But tonight in Left Field, I officially have had enough.
It's become as predictable as it is frustrating for loyal fans.
EVERYONE in Alex Box saw that coming tonight. It always starts with combination of a walk/hit/hbp/etc. And It's not on our Pitcher. It's on Paul.
Again tonight. Marceaux reaches 93 pitches in a steller outing then falters. Yet NOBODY was working in the pen with runners on 2nd and 3rd when he reached 97 pitches. Not a single LSU player moved to the pen until Arkansas plated 2 runs.

Not sure he would take the job, but I would LOVE TW as the next LSU coach. I would bet he could teach them a thing or two about hitting, baserunning, and getting top players/pitchers to come back to LSU.
Everyone in hs/college baseball knows LSU's program is done under PM.

One of them told me he hears it's McDonnell from Louisville as the top guy and the other one says it's Cliff Godwin

We need Godwin or Vitello. Maybe I’m missing someone but they need to be under 50, able to recruit so that it’s not subbed out (ala Paul/Cain) and can bring in a top notch pitching coach.

I heard twice today, from different sources both of which are inside the fence at LSU, that Woodward and Mainieri have had The Talk and there was no particular argument between them

This is the part that makes this less believable. Twice in one day?

While i wont defend his bullpen choices last night, i dont blame him for this specific situation. Marceaux was at 88 pitches i believe after the runners got to 2nd and 3rd and he was throwing a no-no going into that inning. As bad as our pen has been, i wouldnt have trusted anyone else in that situation. I was more upset he didnt leave marceaux in for the 8th. He was already burned for the weekend, may as well let him go 100-110 pitches.

Woodward does want him gone but it needs to be retirement.

Agree. He deserves that much.

heard from a reliable source this week the same thing, BUT with Todd Walker as HC.

I know enough to say this is unequivocally not true nor even remotely close and you should prob never believe this source again in your life.

Good. The product on the field is NOT LSU baseball quality. It’s unwatchable.

After the last few hires that Woodward has made, do you really think that he would hire a commentator to be the head coach?

I've heard this rumor - kinda like a Dale-like posse of Skip's boys circling the wagons to get one of their own in there like was done for Johnny. Have no idea if there is anything to it but it's from an ex-Skip guy who hates PM. I would not be in favor of that scenario and hope it is unfounded.

Pretty much

You predicted that would be his first hire

Me too. It just doesn't fit with Woodward's other hires.

Well, that wasn't based on inside sources or anything. It was kind of obvious seeing the pull LSU had on her and his willingness to spend money on coaches.

And Alleva's complete incompetence in not making it happen sooner.
