Would a remote work company have a way to know you also have another job for another remote work company? Would something trigger them to see that?

If not, I bet someone could keep multiple remote work jobs at one time for quite a while before being found out or fired from any of them for poor performance. If you bust your arse for 2.5 hours at each of your 4 jobs each day (10 hour work day), you could probably do just enough to hang on to the job for at least a little while. The average work from home salary is around $55k, so your total salary would be around $220k. You would be in the top 5% of earners while working relatively low skill jobs from home.

But there is no incentive to do this now that the democrats are in charge.

That’s a good idea until you have 4 Skype meetings set for 2pm

I did this for about a year. Off and on a bit after that.

The money is cool, working yourself to death is not. It sounds like you could just time box yourself and bust arse but if you're anything other than some very junior person you're going to be involved in meetings and questions all day.

Ruined a year of my life, ruined my marriage, ruined my sanity, I made 68k extra, finished my basement with the money. Got fricked long dick style on taxes.

Do not advise.

1. Real job. Takes precedence so you take that one, obviously.

2. Side chic. Internet was down.

3. Hoe. Skip it. Entirely. If asked, say you had a conflict and leave it at that.

4. Kids. Dial in but have the WebEx call your burner. Leave it on mute. If asked anything, ignore. If they persist, ask if it's mission critical or if it can be a parking lot item. Hit mute and watch hilarity ensue.

Yet another reason the “work from home” idea is utter shite.

Is it?

Or the archaic idea that someone needs to have their arse in seat in an office for 8+ hours a day to accomplish the same 2.5 hours of actual tasks?

I am doing it currently. It is Healthcare IT work. My main gig pays $140k/year with benefits and always takes precendence. My 2nd gig pays me $124k/year and I declined all benefits. I plan to do it for 12-18 months. On average I put in 60-70 hours a week of actual work. I am not tied to 8-5 so I can work on the weekend, evenings, early mornings. I am 3 months into it and have had no issues to date.

Gotta make that cheese while you can.

Daughter loves that a new pool is being built as we speak and I love that is paid for with cash.
