Last 4 Ubers took 25 minutes to pick one up and none spoke any english. My wife's last one barely knew the traffic laws.

Take Uber ever day to work and back, fairs have definitely increased. 6 months ago it was $13 now $20+ is standard, shite even Uber black is cheaper than UberX sometimes.

In Chicago, drivers say car jackings are the problem and I agree, who wants to deal with that while trying to do your job/side hustle.

Right now Lyft has $300 bonus when you complete 20 rides. I made $600 in 8 hours last weekend. It can be worth the hassle if you play it right.

This. They get enough in handouts to pay their payments on their Kia's and Hyndais(sp).

The last couple that I have taken to the airport ended up being like this as well and the cars were far from clean. I just pay the parking fee now instead of using Uber.

Not sure how many of these ride sharing services can survive long term.

Uber Eats is the majority of the business now and grew 130% last year.

Think they're doing fine.

Been seeing a major slow down in available cars around the DFW airport the last couple months too. I used to NEVER have issues booking a pickup.

I have no issues using cab service but it’s deplorable af in Nola. Not saying Uber is any better here

I'll say it: Uber and Lyft are WAAAAYY better than cabs.

Some of this

But mainly, it's the rise in food and grocery delivery. People would rather drive and drop off groceries and food, then deal with drunks puking in their car.

Crimes have been committed by NFL players, Wal-Mart employees and grocerie store employees. Are you avoiding those?

In Vegas a couple of weeks ago, I couldn’t get an Uber once in 5 days. Very few drivers were out there, and if you requested one it would be a minimum of 30 minutes. I couldn’t even get anyone to accept a trip. Every place had a huge group of people outside waiting a long time for their ubers, but cabs were still everywhere.

It’s a combination of unemployment payments, and the fact that if a city/state is still under a state of emergency, the drivers cannot charge surge pricing (at least that’s how it was in Vegas). The juice just isn’t worth the squeeze for the drivers right now. Can’t say I blame them.

I can tell you it is damn near impossible to hire low wage workers right now in areas like food, retail, travel etc.

That’s so strange. Both Lyft and Uber are fine here in Austin. My cousin who lives here uses Uber way more than me and has no issues.

My wife had trouble with Lyft in Orlando but Uber worked fine. If I had to guess, things will probably pick back up this summer and slowly return to normal once NFL and college football season starts and stadiums will be at full capacity. Same with NHL, NBA, etc next year.

This and just in general people haven't been using Uber as much during the shutdowns, so drivers have moved to like Uber Eats and stuff. I'm sure it will continue to pick up more as more people are going out and things continue to open up more.

Absolutely. My Uber driver told me before the pandemic all she did was Uber (for a side hustle) but now she has to do Uber Eats as well since there’s way more hits for it than for a ride somewhere.
