WWL radio (N Norman)reported Uber would not serve the French Quarter

last saturday night. Anyone else heard this? Her also said taxi service was absent.

I drive for the Lyft on the weekends and I couldn't get out of the quarter Saturday.Super busy, this could explain why.

I was in a wedding in New Orleans this weekend. Stayed in a French quarter hotel. I took plenty of in the quarter Friday,Saturday,Sunday morning

Not sure I have ever caught an Uber "in" the quarter....usually have to walk to Canal or Esplanade.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it not up to the individual driver as the where they go. Uber does not force drivers to certain areas. I would think drivers stay out of the Quarter because of safety concerns and and traffic jams.
Just walk out of the quarter to get your Uber. Maybe like the 100 block of Bourbon from the Krystal Burger to Canal, that's a safe spot!

I heard there was a few Uber drivers who got carjacked Saturday night.

Same. I've never walked as far as Canal, but I think it's pretty common for them not to want to go all the way in.
If they did that all night when it's busy, they'd probably miss quite a few opportunities just due to the time spent in traffic.
