What’s a good gift for a baby?

Buddy kid is turning 1. He needs to grow up and not be a big pussy. I already got him a fishing pole for Christmas. I’m drawing major blanks.

Bathtub crayons. They're officially indicated for 3 and up but the kid's not going to be in the tub unsupervised.
Anything with sound and flashing lights. They like pushing the buttons and the toy does something.
1 is a little young to use/appreciate outdoor stuff. (But it's still better to ask here than the OT. They'll tell you to give the kid a fleshlight.)

Bass pro has a cool little truck/trailer/boat toy thats cool.
But really, just being there will help the friend out, maybe offer to cook something or help cleanup, or just watch the dude while they clean up.
