Tomorrow or today? That 12:16 am post could go either way.

Feels like he should go LSU if his goal is playing time. KU got Yesefu and still have Harris along with Pettiford committing.

number are not impressive at all

If you ignore the ppg stat he’s pretty terrible. I didn’t pay attention to him enough to remember if he looked better than his stats but 38% with a 1:1 TO ratio for a JR PG isn’t much of an upgrade. Also throw in the fact that he’s only 6’2, so it’s a little harder to play him with Cook and Gaines. Doesn’t make much sense

Seen him play a number of times, wouldn’t he disappointed at all if he chose Kansas.

He's a 4th year guy with nearly 50 starts in his career and has played in pretty much every game at Mizzou. At minimum he would provide LSU with experience Wade says he desperately wants (particularly in the backcourt) and knowledge of the SEC. That alone could help.
However, his numbers aren't remarkable once you look deeper. He's not a great defender...for a coach that makes defense a big priority. So what happens when you play for program that clearly doesn't? He's not a great 3 point shooter (career 33%). Probably his best attribute is ability to assist. But LSU hasn't been a team that has relied on assists throughout Wade's tenure. So where does that fit as an off guard?
We don't know much about who LSU is recruiting in the transfer portal and who (to a large degree) may have already turned them down. Would Pinson be my first choice? No. Second, third, fourth? probably not. But he IS an experienced guard that can play both spots. Maybe he's a guy who you think can thrive in a different system. I don't think it would be a pickup that would be considered a "gamechanger". But I certainly think there are much worse options out there.

Yep, he’s not good at all. Why can’t LSU attract better players?

I think he would have been a good add if our team ran it back from last year. Him coming off the bench in a minor role would have been nice. Asking him to be a lead contributer in a year that you were gutted sounds like a disaster. With the consistency we have had and the role available, I thought we would be a top transfer choice, especially for a guard.

If LSU returned everyone from last year then you wouldn't need him.
The question really is with what appears to be very limited scholarships available (one by my count) what is Wade looking to add? I think the most GLARING hole left by the guys leaving is outside shooting. But maybe Wade doesn't see it that way? Maybe he wants a guy who can simply score on his own and not only a "shooter".
The kid from ECU wasn't a shooter, at all. But he was a dominant scorer and rebounder in the AAC (top 5 in both categories). LSU wasn't very good on the defensive glass so they could use help there as well (He's also deciding today)

To me he is just a slightly better than average Guard in the sec. He is kind of a meh get to me. He will probably make us better than we will be without him.. but unless he becomes consistent it probably won't be enough

What you hope for with Pinson is that he gets hot.
When he's hot he can give you Cam Thomas moments. He's one of those guys who will absolutely go off on people, like he did against Tennessee this year and Ole Miss last year.
The problem with Pinson is that sometimes he'll go off, and sometimes he'll go soft.
Thomas, when he was cold, would just get fouled and earn his points at the line. That isn't really Pinson's game. He averaged four free throw attempts a game this year.
But this guy went off for 36 against TCU, he popped for 23 twice against Arkansas, 27 against Tennessee - if he gets hot, he will scare you.
The question is whether Wade wants him to be more of a playmaker or a scorer. It would seem like he's looking for a point guard. Pinson is a 1:1 assist to turnover guy.

Probably both. A guy who can run the point (in a manner similar to Smart) with another off-guard in the game (likely Knight) OR play off the ball (like he did mostly at Mizzou) with Gaines or Cook at PG.
LSU has had elite success offensively the last few years so I don't see Wade changing what they do there (much to the chagrin of posters and Lester who pine for the days of backdoor cuts and quick ball movement). They are going run mainly a high-ball screen based offense and try to allow their players room to create.
The issue with him hasn't been so much ability as it is consistency. He had big games in wins vs. Oregon, Illinois, @ Arkansas, @ Tennessee. But he also had a propensity to disappear in games as well.
He's a rising senior that has been through the SEC wars for three years and has some record of production. For those who bitched about LSU needing to have experienced players they are probably getting the most experienced SEC transfer available. He instantly becomes the player with the most SEC experience on the team....for a team that will be severely lacking that aspect.

i don't mind the offense as much as a i do the type of guard that Wade likes to recruit. Dont need backdoor cuts or tons of ball movement. Just an extra pass that is always missed, and more efficient shots. Those 2 go hand in hand.

Hoping for some Charles Carmouche production.

I don't deny that, but that's just not what Wade emphasizes...regardless of who is out there. Hell, even Mays was reluctant to make the extra pass. The bottom line though is regardless of how it looks it has been effective. And Pinson is a guy that has shown he can go off for big nights against big time opponents playing somewhat of the style Wade wants. Would it be great to see guys make the extra pass more to wide open snipers from deep? Absolutely. But that isn't what they are going to do so you may as well get guys who can be effective in the style of play you want. Pinson is not a guy coming in from a mid-major school or a highly ranked recruit who has yet to produce and is frustrated with his playing time. He's a 3 year starter and the second leading scorer from a SEC school that is just coming off a NCAAT appearance and arguably the transfer option Wade is MOST familiar with having scouted him for 3 years

Mays took good shots though
I’m not sure that is so much Wade’s “model” as it is on the players. I doubt he encourages bad shots & missed passes.
