Chances are, the dog is bothering others, too. Team up with your neighbors to have them complain.

I’m not advocating killing an animal but I’ve heard an aspirin in a meatball if consumed by an animal could cause cardiac arrest and death

“Ultrasonic dog silencers can work through walls because they emit sound waves of a certain frequency. These waves have the potential to travel over a certain distance. This means you can easily calm your neighbor’s dog and reduce their barking.”

Put speaker against wall
Wait until neighbor goes to sleep
Blast dog barking sounds all night

We live on the first floor and our apartments are the only two in our "wing"... so there's no one else nearby the help complain.

I'm just looking to spend $20-$30 on a "thing" that'll shut the damn dog up..

They changed the formula a while back since people were using it to kill animals and people. Takes a lot more now than it used to unless you have a jug of some older antifreeze

Sunbeam Sonic Egg Ultrasonic Bark Control Device

Maybe something like this? If the walls are thin, I would place it near that wall. Hell, buy two.

This.

It puts out a high pitched noise the dog can hear but you can't. Harmless but it interrupts the barking pattern.

I looked at that.. but it looks like someone has to press a button... I'm looking for something that'll just respond to the dog's barking without me pressing a button.

Granted, I understand that a device that can "detect a dog bark and respond" is probably more expensive than I'm looking to spend...

But then again, If I'm/we're not around, who gives a shite... this might actually be the way to go.

I had this same problem about a year ago. I did something pretty unconventional. I asked them to fix it, I took it to management and then I threatened to fight everyone in the apartment. So yeah...sounds like you’re pretty early according to how I progressed. You’re getting there though.

Anyone see if this is a "passive" device? In that, I wouldn't have to press a button to activate it... the barking would?

Call animal control. There is likely an ordinance on the books about how many times a dog can bark in an hour. If there is, record it and submit with complaint.
