I guess I just think the people in actual positions of power that allowed this stuff to happen with impunity are a bigger problem than the athletes whose privilege you seem to be checking.

And it still isn’t limited to athletics, which you admitted, so this reply is pretty senseless. LSU is dealing with a pervasive problem with sexual misconduct.

This story is bigger than just a handful of athletes. That’s the disconnect.

So you're upset with people in the adminstration that "allowed this to happen" but not the athletes that are actually committing the crimes...wow. Deflecting much? And the problem with the administration isn't that they "allowed this to happen", it was the proper reporting of the incidents. The athletes need to stop raping people..period. That's the solution. And you claim it's a pervasive problem with LSU, not just the athletes...well a whole heck of a lot of stories have been coming out in reference to a very small population (the athletes) committing these acts but I haven't read or heard much about any other rapes lately from the much larger regular student population.

I feel so sorry for the young generation, especially my son.

Don’t. My son went through LSU about 5 years ago, and I could not believe the snatch that yo-yo pulled.

Realize that every university, every city and every community in America and the world deals with Sexual Assault in huge numbers. The largest percentage of assaults are never reported and conviction rate of reported cases is not high.

As long as LSU handles their business in the proper manner this is simply a public relation issue now and not a sanction problem.

Sexual assault is going to happen on every campus on earth. The issue is what LSU did or didn’t do when it happened. These things aren’t going to stop happening. We just have to deal with them appropriately.

Gawd, sanity is refreshing!

What is the difference between misdemeanor sexual battery and sexual assault? I assume one is closer to harassment and the other is rape.

I kinda feel like lsu or WBRZ might have purposely wanted this to leak... so that lsu can show the public that they have learned from mistakes and use the handling of this case and whatever punishment comes from it, as an example....
just seems like odd/fishy timing to me; and smells of a PR grab...

This is not how you do PR.

My son is there now and it's pissing me off because he is getting distracted from his school work. He already had to drop a class this semester.

"Sexual battery" is just the name of the crime in Louisiana. There is no such crime in Louisiana as "sexual assault."

"misdemeanor sexual battery..."

Doubt this is going to amount to anything.

Move on.
