I'm curious if they have data that shows this actually helps boost ratings, or if its just easy programming for them.
Given the lack of viewership of all award shows in recent years, you'd think they'd be better off just letting MTV play reruns of Jersey Shore, Comedy Central play reruns of South Park, etc.
