And yet all you haters were there, obviously?

We’re y’all wearing Girbeaud jeans? Tight rolled with penny loafers? Or acid washed attire? Perhaps Z-Cavs?

Not Nola but Dallas - There was a club called The Stark, you could order a drink and a hit of X from the waitress.

This was before it was illegal (the real stuff) and one would make you roll till 5-6 am hard

great times

The Stark Club was one of the weirdest places I’ve ever been to. Unisex restrooms, I think that’s what got my curiosity in the first place.

You must be a little older than me because I got started early but legal ecstasy was before my time. We ate them almost every weekend but they were always illegal. I’m 45.

Damn, it hurts just typing that. 45. Damn, I am old.

You could do that at ATIIs that summer before X became illegal. Good times.

You’re not taking about the shitty strip club in Prairieville, are you? That’s the only Escapades I ever went to.

We did a bus trip to Nola with Tri-Delt, and The Gold Mine was one of our stops. Had my first Flaming Dr. Pepper there. The local girls in my circle seemed to consume them with much enthusiasm

No complaints of heartburn either

I remember the Gold Mine before the enlarged DJ booth and sidebar. They played better music in the late 1980s before the kyper and Debbie Deb crap.

The Crystal on Decautur
The Blue Crystal was another good spot. Grab a 24oz Turbodog at the Decatur House a few doors down for about 3 bucks, drink it and head in to look at many attractive goth chicks, though I don't recall that term being used until very late 1980s.

Our 80's/ 90's quarter trip:
-everybody meet at Pat O's
-walk to the Gold Mine
-After beers and darts(juiced for flaming Dr. Peppers by
this time).
-walk to Melius'(probably my favorite 80's bar)
-when Melius' gets old walk to the Dungeon or just end the
night

During the height of 80's ecstacy, what was the name of the club on the lake front that looked like a greek temple-- the name seemed to change every 12 to 18 months?

In order to compare clubs from 30-35 years ago and today, does that mean y’all are still going to clubs today? 3+ decades of clubbing? Still taking shots and eating ecstasy?
