Im looking in Baton Rouge currently. And I guess I didn't think about the AWD in terms of volume on the lot.

Don't need an AWD vehicle in Baton Rouge.

Can anyone tell if there is any wiggle room on the prices for an AWD 2021 Toyota Highlander right now? I've gotten two responses online with practically zero negotiation.

Yes, around $5K or so. I looked at one the other day, sticker was $48,688, internet manager offered me $42,398 initially.

I didn't want to go down there that day, but you would be in that range if a Limited or higher XLT.

I know you didn't ask, but Are You SURE you want a Highlander?

I love Toyotas. My wife (at the time) wanted a Highlander, so what the heck, we got one.

That was the worse stopping and worse handling vehicle I had ever driven. It's like an unwieldy mini-van. It is Not an SUV. There is no S in this thing.

Make sure you test drive it like real world stuff.

It matters if you want the best deal...just don't let them know you're paying in cash until you've negotiated a final price.

you are contradicting yourself here. How the frick does cash help you if you've ALREADY negotiated the final price?

Carsdirect.com is usually pretty good at giving you the current going rate. They'll also try to hook you up with a local dealer.

According to the site right now, a Highlander AWD LE should be going for less than invoice, including a $1,500 rebate until 3/31.

CarsDirect - Highlander LE
(Only click on link using computer - iPhone doesn't send me to the same page)

Here is the current "Target Price" without any added options (you can add options on the page) --

Because if a dealer thinks you're financing the vehicle with them, they're more willing to negotiate on the price since they make so much of their money through financing. Watch the video I posted.

Negotiating on interest rate may be a place to get something back, push them to cut BS fees.

It's not an SUV, so it shouldn't drive like an SUV. I drive a 4Runner, but drive my mom's 2020 Highlander from time to time. I like the way it drives

No sir. Gabe Ripen said that. I said not to let them know that you're paying cash until you've negotiated a final price. I wouldn't walk in there with a briefcase full of cash, if that's what you think I meant.

Again...watch the video I posted.

Never pay fees. No dealer prep, no paperwork fees ever.

Email every online sales manager for a quote within a radius you're willing to travel. Take the lowest price and then email all their competition back to see if they can beat that. Rinse and repeat until no one is willing to go any lower.

Then show up on a slow day (Mondays are good), with a realistic price in mind and and tell them you'll buy today if they hit that price.
