Same here if I don't have some of my homemade in the freezer.

My wife likes some of the patties fried, chopped up and use the grease from frying them to make a white gravy, add some milk, salt, pepper and toss the chopped up sausage back in it and spoon that over biscuits

Jimmy Dean, but I hate cutting it, so I compromise and buy Purnell's. Just easier to deal with early in the morning.

Try these dudes from Sam's. Really good sausage, already pattied and a box is only like $8.

You can buy Jimmy Dean regular sausage already cut up in a box of 30 patties. I get mine at Rouses in the frozen foods section.

Beats trying to cut it out of those soft plastic tubes, even with knives as sharp as I keep mine.

I guess I've never really noticed a huge difference in the major national brands, but we're a bacon house and don't eat much breakfast sausage. I usually buy Dean's though because that's what my parents bought when I was a kid.

I went to pick up Jimmy Dean's and they were out so I grabbed the Kroger store brand. It's good stuff.

I just form with my hands like a small hamburger patty..

I was short on some hamburger meat and I added some Hot flavor Jimmy Deans and mixed it up. Came out pretty good..

Because I have a Tormek T-8 for woodworking I keep my knives ridiculously sharp but I have found if you hit the blade on a steel for a few strokes it cuts through the roll much easier. Adding the extra irregularity to the edge seems to give it better purchase on the plastic.
