Ted Williams
Read his book as a kid back when elbow up and flat swing was taught. Yet he was saying that the swing needed to have lift in it to stay on plane with the ball. Now that’s being taught again. Guy was great at hitting but also knew why he was great. I lost my copy in the flood. I need to replace it.

You can’t teach players to be great opposite field hitters. This explains why they can’t help Milazzo at least.

Mainieri was talking over your head. You didn't understand.

This would limit so many people. Look at Austin Nola. He wouldn’t be a catcher in the bigs if he wasn’t taught completely new things as an adult.

I remember that too, yet when I was a kid all of the coaches were trying to teach you to swing level

I’m not talking about Austin Nola & his developments. Not every change is the same.

But the time it takes to learn to hit oppo & be great at isn’t worth the squeeze anyway at this point in a players career.

A superlative is a little different than a negation clause, bro.

Oh boy. all those practices hitting the inside half of the ball when the bb core bats came out ... time wasted.

So ell made something up in order to get a shot in on LSU and/or Mainieri. Color me shocked.

You all shouldn't question him though, he just knows more.

BS !!! Going Oppo is more about approach than any change to a hitters hitting style. You go oppo when you're down in the count and the pitcher throws a strike on the outer half of the plate. You either learn to go oppo or learn to how to take a seat on the bench.

Uhhhhh. But you can.

So Michael Jordan was great simply because he was taught to be so? Thats the only factor?

You cant teach greatness.

You can teach opposite field hitting. You cant teach someone to be great at it, per say.

Well hello strawman. I never said anything close to this. Why did you ignore where I said many things can’t be taught. But going oppo and doing it well in baseball is actually one of them.

It is somewhat of a natural ability and is very difficult to teach as muscle memory has been built into these kids over the years. Hitting the ball deeper in the zone and staying on top of the ball is not as easy as it sounds, especially when someone is throwing 90+. What PM meant is Morgan is a natural at going opposite field and it’s not that easy to teach others to do it.
