You literally took out 90% of what he said then mashed words together to fit your narrative that you think CPM is a bad coach.

What's the point in doing that? Are you that obsessed?

If it was an easy teach, every hitter could do it.
Who claims teaching anything in baseball is easy? Hitters who fail 70% of the time make millions of dollars. Nothing in this game is easy. Power isn’t teachable. Speed isn’t teachable. Arm strength isn’t teachable. Hitting oppo and doing it well is one of the things that can be taught. PM doesn’t think so though.

I can add one word to the OP to make it exactly what he said. I haven’t turned anything around.

I am impressed we made it to page 2 of an ell thread and he has not once mentioned he played college baseball.

I got y’all to mention it more than I do now. Mission accomplished. I’m a master manipulator. Or teacher if you will.

So why didn't you do that in the first place? Probably because it wasn't worthy of its own thread. But you know this.

It completely changes the narrative you are trying to push. If you add great to the quote then it completely changes the conversation. Then the conversation is the coach can teach a guy to hit oppo and then it is up to the player to take those teachings continue to work on it and eventually become great at it.

Thats with literally anything. Point being it can be taught and just about any hitter can work to be great at it. It’s not some skill that relies on natural ability and talent. Again, we aren’t talking speed or power or arm strength.

Talking about Morgan on OTB. Said he’s a great oppo hitter and you can’t teach that.

Well if you take away all his opposite field hits then he wouldn’t have any. He would be a pull hitter.

Of course you can. Work on it every hitting practice. If you swing the bat correctly, you'll hit the ball where it's thrown.

On top of that, there are good oppo hitters and poor oppo hitters

Which exactly what the actual CPM quote is saying.

I learned this awhile back, If you stick a microphone in front of s coach, he is likely to say anything. PM certainly will, O too.
Saban, not really, Miles for sure.

I know what PM meant. But that’s no fun. It was a slow boring Thursday and I’m in training. This killed 30 minutes for me pretty easily.

There are a number of pro instructors who have said the same thing that PM said. I happen to agree. Elite hitters are born, not taught. Sure, some tweaks are made here and there. But teaching elite movements and sequences with guys who have limitations and inflexibility in different parts of their body is extremely difficult.

It’s easy to teach kids to be good youth hitters. Maybe even high school. But getting a guy to be elite with oppo power is pretty rare. In my opinion.
