OTers with kids, do they still sing patriotic songs in their schools?

I see so many parts of americas cultural history sort of under fire for one reason or another and obviously academia is one of the primary places pushing this.
When I was in elementary school in the early 2000s we sang plenty of patriotic songs such as America, God Bless America, America The Beatiful, etc...
As a young kid obviously at the time chorus was not one of my favorite classes but as I've gotten older I have some great memories of the entire school and parents singing these songs together.
One especially is a concert that happened to happen right after 9/11 (my school was less than a mile or two from the pentagon and many students had parents who worked there) the choir director with something like a day or twos notice added a bunch more patriotic songs for the kids to sing and taught it to our school choir on short notice. As a kid I didn't really understand the importance of all that but I'm sure the adults were probably very emotional given that they grasped sort of what was happening in the world more than we kids.
The kicker is that choir teacher was a very proud African American woman who also taught us songs that slaves would sing while working and educated us on aspects of African culture through their music. But she also really seemed to love the traditional American patriotic and folk songs that today seem to be part of our culture that is totally under fire.
I want that level of unity back where we aren't so totally divided. It stresses me out that one day my kids won't really have that level of patriotism in their schools and I may have to actively be fighting their indoctrination that may try and make them disgusted with America.

My kid's school sings the black national anthem every morning.

Yes.
In preschool they also dressed like pilgrims and Indians on thanksgiving as well. Private school is great.

This, same for my kids back when they were in lower school.

Gonna be honest here: I don't give a shite whether they sing anthems or not. Our country - it's people - don't deserve patriotism right now.

My kid at Southeastern says no. The one at LaTech hasn't replied yet.

My kid’s school makes them sing the national anthem in Chinese every morning.

I'm gonna be honest here, too. Your comment makes you look just as special as those who you are disappointed in right now.
Stand up, be patriotic, and be an example of what it means to be American. Good times or bad.

It is interesting how overt patriotism has ebbed and flowed in my lifetime. I was in elementary school in the 70's and outside of pledge in the morning in 1st and 2nd grade I don't ever remember singing patriotic songs as a class, maybe on July 4th.
It may have been the patriotic hangover from Vietnam. Despite that we were very much in the cold war with a very real monolithic enemy that was pretty universally hated. The largest uptick in overt patriotism I have seen in my life was certainly late 2001 for obvious reasons.

Same, though late 70's into early 80's. One year in elementary school there was an assembly celebrating America and every class sang a patriotic song, but it certainly wasn't a regular thing.

Hell if I know. I don't go to class with the little turds.
Ours are in private school, so probably? Maybe?

Did they "cross cross applesauce" or were they allowed to sit Indian style?

No offense, but this sounds like a Biden tweet.

I have elementary aged kids and they say the pledge everyday. They also learned patriotic songs for Veterans Day. We live in very rural Louisiana.

Yes.
My kids say the Pledge, sing God Bless America, have a moment of silence, last week was Dr. Seuss week where the kids and teachers dressed up Dr. Seuss characters.
This is a LA public school in a heavily Democratic city.
Twitter isn't real life.

Mine does because I write a check to the archdiocese and if they do dumb shite, I will just stop sending my kid there.

When my older kids were still in private school, they learned patriotic songs in music class.
